    they need to be within 150 runs to avoid the follow on i believe.

    Hmm I've got a day 4 ticket at Old Trafford (plus day 5 as this was cheap). It looks like I'll be relying on Manchester rain to ensure I get to see much cricket...

    * In a match of five days or more, a side which bats first and leads by at least 200 runs has the option of requiring the other side to follow-on.
    * in a match of three or four days, 150 runs;
    * in a two-day match, 100;
    * in a one-day match with two innings per side, 75.

    We're doing well but, as we saw at Trent Bridge, Haddin and Agar are no mugs with the bat.

    It aint over yet....

    We won't be enforcing the follow on, even if we could. No chance of enforcing it on day 2, giving them the opportunity to bat on days 3 & 4 & then bowl us out on a day 5 pitch.

    Ok, they're possibly not up to the job, but we're not going to give them the opportunity.

    Don't enforce, go out there, put couple of hundred more on them, and then skittle them for some bastard score with Swanny turning it square.

    I want to trash them in the ways they thrashed us for a generation

    How funny was that ?

    Agar was so far at the wrong end !

    Yep, you definitely don't enforce the follow on. Get the lead up to 500 hundred and then make them suffer!

    It's a difficult decision, the England bowlers won't be remotely tired, and the prospect of an innings victory against a shell shocked batting line up is very tempting. Australia's relative strength is their bowling, a few quick wickets and England 56-3 at the close is very possible.

    Agar seems to be a one innings wonder!

    Agar seems to be a one innings wonder!

    Can't expect the lad to duplicate his 1st test batting on a regular basis and if Australia are relying on that then we're in for a good summer!

    Forecast for Lords tomorrow morning is overcast apparently.

    IF we get the option (never write the Aussies off!) it might be beneficial to make them follow on in the hope of winkling a few out if it wobbles around under the cloud cover tomorrow.

    They will make the follow on target anyway.

    Especially as he's a bowler. Incredible how much they rely on their tail. Great stuff, hopefully an unlikely 5-0!

    Just think what Swann can do on the 3rd/4th day if he's getting 4 now!

    Jimmy is getting a nice rest too..

    Here's a question and I don't know the answer to it.

    A batsman scores a ton and goes on the Honours Board

    A bowler takes 5 wickets in an innings likewise

    What about a wicketkeeper taking 5 victims?

    Haddin took 5 catches during England's innings.

    England to bat again.
