went to Peckham Town v Guru Nanak in the Kent County Football League - Peckham started a shambles but finally pulled their finger out after blowing a heap of chances and won 2-0.
Do they still have a woman manager?
Yup, still Mary Phillips. Combined the role with yelling at someone to fetch the ball because wayward shots kept ending up on the South Circular.
  • Welling lost 0-1 at home to Chatham. 661 in attendance. I thought of going but was put off by the £16 admission.

Ebbsfleet finally won with a patched up side and two clean sheets in a week. Onwards and upwards please.
  • Erith Town beat AFC Croydon Athletic 3-0 on Saturday. Now in 4th position in the Isthmian South East. Early days but playing some decent stuff.

Croydon have just sacked Jermaine McGlashan their manager today....

Our18s are playing Dartford tomorrow in the FA Youth Cup at Princes Park ko7pm.

I was at the game - very poor quality. Freddie Sears for Chatham had quite a few half chances and missed them all! It was only three years ago he was banging them in for Ipswich. How the mighty are fallen. He is at the twilight of his career now though. Chatham looked a decent team.
  • FA YOUTH CUP

    Dartford 3-3 Erith Town

The Dockers win 5-4 on pens!

Erith hit the woodwork FOUR times and had a player sent off in the 2nd half, but dug in for a fully deserved victory. Cracking match to watch.
  • Eight National League clubs have decided to boycott the new National League Cup, which is a similar competition to the EFL Trophy, with Under 21 sides of Prem and Champ clubs taking part. It seems a strange decision to protect players by abandoning FA Cup replays and then adding a new (useless) competition, which means clubs have to play four to seven extra games. I rather hope the National League clubs field their kids and two Under 21 teams contest the final at Wembley in front of 358 spectators. Some National League clubs were up in arms about abandoning FA Cup replays as it is a potential money-spinner. Presumably, the big five or six clubs decided this was good for football.

Dartford play Hamlet in the FA Trophy on Saturday! Sadly I reckon that's Hamlet out of another cup!

I saw him play for Bromley last season.

Quite unusual for the son of a genuine legend to be happy playing in non league.

  • Lancing FC's game against Three Bridges in the Isthmian South East division has been called off due to international calls ups.

Lancing have 2 players in the Bermuda squad.

How long before we regularly start seeing non-league games called off?

Don't you need 3 to get a game called off or is the rule different in non league?

I assume it's different, they put in a request and the league and Three Bridges accepted it. I imagine Three Bridges could have turned around and said no, and they would have had to play it.

Taking in Cray Wand v Chatham Town tonight, think it’s my first competitive non-Charlton game for about 13 years

Bet you've seen a fair few non competitive cafc performances in that time though.

Cray soundly beaten 4-1 by a Chatham team with a few ex-pros like Freddie Sears and Sid Nelson, who got the 4 goals between them (Sears hat trick).

Cray have a cracking set up there but unfortunately a team not to match it at the mo. 532 there, a good couple of hundred from Chatham. Amazing the depth of support at level 7.

Decent pint of ‘The Wands’ for £5 though
  • Very decent setup, looks good.

I’m often surprised at the crowd numbers at non league matches. I think there’s a lot of neutrals who just like the atmosphere of a smaller set up (myself included).

At Chelmsford v Farnborough today. Decent enough game although Chelmsford lost. Some ex-addick involvement with Sam Oguntayo for Chelmsford and Richard Chin and Ricky Holmes for Farnborough. Chin is very nifty
  • Good 1-0 win for Welling last night, played really well, down to ten men for much of the second half too.
