  • Few Mikkellers (Denmark) to celebrate TS taking over yesterday.
  • 5am Saint is nice but I'm not enough of a fan of red ales to drink more than one at a time generally. That said I had about 30 cans of 5am Saint and they have all gone over the summer!

I'm going to restock my elvis juice supply tonight whilst waiting for the UFC to start and before I inevitably fall asleep just before the main event

Where did you find that? Other than the usual largers (Carlsberg, Tuborg, etc) I've not found any Danish beers locally. Would be particularly interested in a darker beer. The Danes seem to go crazy for Easter and all the breweries produce darker Easter beers.
  • M&S stock at least 4 Mikkeller beers. Should also be able to get Gamma and To Ol beers in specialist off licences. These crop up in pubs now and again.

    Hopefully we'll have a pre-season in Denmark.

Copenhagen(one of THE best capital cities in Europe), beautiful women and Elephant beer has the makings of a very nice time.
  • One from Friday night.

On a 4/£7 deal in one of the supermarkets, possibly Coop. Wouldn't go out of my way for it again but nice enough. Quite a lot of caramel coming through.
  • A couple of recent tasters.

Enjoyed both but very different. Top one unfined, old fashioned style, bottom one really refreshing, perhaps more of a summer drink and at 7% went down far too easy - recommended.
  • No photos at the moment, but I managed to get 17 cans of Other Half beer via Cloudwater Brewery a couple of weeks back...all IPAs /DIPAs and all absolutely bloody lovely...a real treat as you just can't get it here (and I was meant to be in NYC this summer, for their 'Green City' beer fest...)… At over £160 for the cans though, it's probably just as well they're not that readily available... Cheers

  • My first drink in 3 months.
This went down very well, very similar to a Sierra Nevada.

    Really nice lager.

    One of my favourites.

With a label like that they really should have stopped the bottle with a cork.
  • anyone got a sub machine got one off ebay - a bargain but having trouble finding the kegs for them only company that i can find is beerwulf - but they are pricey and have a v small selection as most are constantly out of stock.
  • I've got one and unless I'm mistaken beerwulf is the only place you can get them. I just get 8 kegs to get free delivery.

Correct. Beerwulf is the only place, at present.
It's not the cheapest way to drink at home, but there is a huge difference in taste, IMO.
The draft Desperados is really something else.
They've recently added a few more beers, too.

Insane prices. I've spent silly money on beer over the years, but I've come to the conclusion that you can get ace DDH IPAs/DIPAs for a lot less.

Tesco do a North Brewing IPA and a Salt DIPA for £3 and £3.50 respectively. Both very good beers and ones under a different guise you could pay £6/£7 for in a bottle shop. These are just two examples, I try and shop smart these days.

Craft cans/bottles have absolutely sky rocketed in the past two or three years.

That reminds me, I have a desperado in the fridge as well as a Cruz campo.

Was a nightmare trying to get kegs in the summer but thankfully they seem to have them well stocked now.

I really liked the Salt one but most of the others I’ve tried from Tesco just don’t do it for me...unfortunately...

Eight cans of Faith for £9. I've not tried it since it popped up in Tesco, but I would like to hope it is the same recipe.
  • Am mixing 2% ABV Depot 90 Bitter (440ml x4, £1.00) with 5.4% ABV Bishops Finger (Shepherd Neame, 500ml, £1.25).
Makes a very acceptable session beer.
  • Not notmally a fan of stout, but this is enjoyable. Pretty strong though!

  • Am enjoying a West Coast IPAs at the moment, having gone off NEIPAs. Got a bit more bitterness and backbone to them.

Loving a couple of South London examples at the moment. Lake Superior from Southey Brewing (Penge) and Goat from Villages (Deptford). Both excellent.

  • I visited the Orpington Liberal Club on Sunday and was impressed by the excellent Mutineers 'Redacted'. It had a similar appearance to a Porter, a taste that belied its strength, and no fishy finings.
A superb session beer. Mutineers beers are brewed in Petts Wood.
  • That Barney's Stout looks delicious. I'm looking forward to seeing a few darker heavier beers now that the winter months are upon us.

Got it in Lidl. £1.79 I think it was. They have a bit of a beer festival on at the moment

Southy Brewing's NEIPA is possibly the worst drink I've had this year.
  • I’ve got a couple of crates of mixed “craft” beers on order and would like to keep a simple personal rating record / chart on my phone for future reference.

Does anyone know if there’s “an app for that” please?

looks like there are community apps, but I would prefer just to keep my own records. Ta

    Thanks for the reply.
I might give it a try if I can’t find a way to keep a personal / offline solution 👍

Untappd has an option to keep your entries private.  I’ve not used it, but it is there.
