  • Grim, really grim
  • I hear we were awful.
  • BBC says we had 60% possession.

It also said we never scored and Ipswich did.

sitting precariously in 20th just above the spanners on goal difference. five points clear from Yeovil third from bottom.
  • Sounded like 5 mins of suicidal defending followed by 85 mins of laboured, unimaginative build up play. Becoming a bit of theme for the season.

We need to rediscover some of the verve and zip we had at the end of last season. Not sure how we do that with the current personnel. Just gotta keep working hard and hope it turns soon.
  • Same as most of the season, clueless with no attacking football to talk about. Not going to change and its going to be a long winter
  • disappointing
  • Wasn't there but we totally outclassed Doncaster on Tuesday and they just beat QPR. Just an off-day, maybe
  • McCarthy was at the Donny game, worked out our strengths and put out a side to cope with them. Unfortunately we just don't have the fire power or CP the tactical nous to compete. Unless we can strengthen the squad in January it's going to be a real struggle until May.

  • Lackluster I will leave it at that.
  • To throw out a positive, it seems like Alnwick was quite good?

Yes it was. First 5 we made some very unusual decisions, defensively.

Ipswich set out to defend the 1-0 from minute 5. Didn't know McCarthy was wired that way.
  • We got played at our own game. Go away from home and sit back after scoring.

However we offered nothing. No passion on the pitch today and no wanting to win. The Ipswich didn't make a save did he?
  • Poor start, Ipswich eventually scored and we couldn't break them down. We don't have a great deal of quality to come off the bench to change things.

Couldn't make Tuesday, can see why Powell has played Stewart on the left until recently. I've not been that impressed with him but can be a threat cutting in into his right foot to shoot.

Doncaster Rovers showed far more desire to play football and create chances than ITFC, who just parked the bus today.
  • That was sssssshhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttttt.

  • Eloquently put I know
  • A performance like that hardly makes you want to quote Shakespeare, though, does it?

I think that you summed it up quite well.

Ipswich were so confident that they could contain us in the second half they barely bothered to step into our half or retain possession. They let us have territory and possession knowing we could do sod all with it.

  • We were asleep for the first 8 mins and just plain shit for the other 82.
  • Not enough commitment, like they hadn't been paid or something, epitomised by Morro's card at the end when no-one else bothered to move for the ball.

Poor urgency and movement and skill.
  • Really not much to debate is there? Poor all round, with our shortcomings (both players and tactics) painfully evident.
  • Awful.

Hoof ball and when we eventually got it on the floor it was sideways backwards sideways until they moved slightly out of their half so we went back to keeper who hoofed it, we then got the second ball and passed it sideways and then back and then sideways and then back to keeper who hoofed it and so on for 85 minutes.
  • Wouldn't say there was anything wrong with the commitment, just totally devoid of ideas going forwards.

Powelly has a big problem. This hasn't been over 1 or 2 games, its been all season that when attacking weve not been up to the mark. He's not been able to bring anyone in on loan, but he needs to find something that works. Soon
  • Awful, just awful. That's it.
  • December tomorrow, 7 goals scored in home league matches, 2 wins at home. Depressing to say the least.
  • Lots of huff and puff, zero quality. Pretty dire.
  • McCarthy prob said go for it from the off, nick one, we'll sit back then they won't create anything. Job done. We were listless.
  • Didn't go today but went on Tuesday. I guess Doncaster must of been having an off game cos in that we were all over them. today sounds like we're back to our normal standard.
