love the confidence of Duchatelet in his decision. 'Only time will tell if its the right decision'..... expect the owner to have a bit more confidence than that.
I wish Parkinson was given the support that Powell got. I will be there Wednesday night supporting CHARLTON as always. I hope fellow Charlton fans give the new owner a chance.

Yes get behind the team
I admire your loyalty but the problem is which team?
The Charlton Athletic picked by Chris Powell that got booted out today or the Standard Liege juniors picked by a Belgium electronics tycoon that takes over?
The players at his disposal are not any different to those that CP has had. He will undoubtedly set them up differently and approach things in a different fashion. Not sure that this will be a bad thing. My only critisism of CP recently is that he's been too negative. If JR gets those players playing more positively and putting square pegs in square holes then I doubt we will see the train rash that some are fearing. Whether it's enough to save our season is a different discussion. Still think CP could have been given better support. I doubt it was ever even considered.
Good luck to Jose. He's not to blame and will be aiming to win, so is on our side. Lets hope he brings a fresh approach to our style which had become a bit stagnant. Maybe it will allow some of our players to flourish? Lets wait and see.
how strange tho that he happened to be in south london the morning CP got the sack---------------------------feck me what a coincidence ----------maybe he was visiting the Thames Barrier ?
So, what will be have, a pre match on pitch Jose Riga introduction to the crowd whilst he waves cheerily to all four corners wearing a Charlton scarf and nice natty red tie tomorrow? I would like to think the introduction can be from right in the centre circle, with Roland and Katrien by his side, complete with an uplifting speech in sweetly broken English delivered with passion and graciousness all round. Then the mic can be handed to Roland to say a few final words. At that point the crowd to a man woman and child roars it's approval, and they walk off the pitch to a 100% standing ovation. All orchestrated by a beaming Steve Bradshaw and Ben Kensall. Matchday experience ...huh? Sweat it.

I would imagine this has been in the offing for some time. CP knew it and so stuck 2 fingers up at RD on Sunday by ignoring the instructions of his boss.
I have not once seen an argument between employee and employer work out in the minion's favour and not in this instance either.

He's actually been at the ground since RD invited him to our last home game. Still waiting for service at the bar.
Les Reed, here we go again. Really disappointed in what duch has done so far. I hope that it somehow gets turned around, but what is a youth coach, who has no experience of the championship (that i know of!?) goIng to be able to do with players he does not know... how the excitement of potentially getting to a semi final can be so quicky doused...
I think I will be here supporting Charlton longer than Jose's the manager. He will take us down playing the owner players instead Chris Powell playing a thread bare squad of his own. Only time will tell if Rolland has made the decision but I do get a strong feeling he's a nut case.

I tend to agree and could have been the reason behind the flat performance
Look. Chris Powell has now gone. We are Charlton Athletic supporters who this morning find themselves with a new manager. None of us know how this will end but let's give the new bloke a chance before we decide he's useless.
I just hope he picks the on merit and not because he told to play s/l players by rd? If he pulls off a win at millwall sat he will turn into a legend overnight! Then lets see the posts and comments on here?
Sky Sports News have just shown footage of training this am. Being taken by Alex Dyer and Damien Matthew. Jose and A.N Other x 2 were watching (dressed in full track suits).

Players seemed fine. Lots of laughing and joking.
They weren't focussed on Thuram, Nego and Reza by any chance were they?
I can't see Dyer and Matthew staying much longer, can you?

part and parcel of football, surely you just get on with it. The Club pay your wages not the Manager. I'm sure that most have had their manager sacked before. Just be professional and do the job you are paid to do.

Looks like we are cutting back on quality food for the players as well, is the guy in the white delivering Pizza's?
until he's sacked, until he's sacked
The NEW Standard Liege MANAGER!!!!!!!!
