Sky Sports News have just shown footage of training this am. Being taken by Alex Dyer and Damien Matthew. Jose and A.N Other x 2 were watching (dressed in full track suits).
Players seemed fine. Lots of laughing and joking.
They weren't focussed on Thuram, Nego and Reza by any chance were they?
I can't see Dyer and Matthew staying much longer, can you?
The Sky Reporter outside the Training Ground was saying that they understood there were roles for both Dyer and Matthew.
Personally I don't expect them to stay, but if they do it will probably only be till the end of the season.
As stated at the beginning of posting, a manager no one has heard of. Watford and Middlesboro have done the same and to be fair have picked up in the league.....hope we do the same. I agree, get behind him. Foreign managers we have never heard off or average are the in thing, West brom and Fulham as well.

part and parcel of football, surely you just get on with it. The Club pay your wages not the Manager. I'm sure that most have had their manager sacked before. Just be professional and do the job you are paid to do.
They did not appear to "all get on with it" on Sunday" though did they, looking at events and the fact CP now knew on Sunday he was going the players showed nothing like a "professional" attitude.

They didn't exactly play to keep Powell in a job did they?

Because he was already "gone", Sundays result would not have made any difference

It would have showed that they were playing for the manager and given him a send off to be proud of rather than a feeble surrender.

or they would not want to sign a new contract/want to leave in the summer because of the atrocious treatment of their manager.

That makes no sense whatsoever, the contract situation is entirely seperate.
A good perfomance would have made it much harder for CP to be sacked, in the end all the players did was make it easier.

it makes perfect sense, if you understand that these are people, not characters in a football manager game. Say you're a footballer, you find out just before a big game that a person you admire and love working for has just been atrociously treated by some one. That's got to affect your psychology and concentration of the game. They're gonna think "fuck, i dont want to be playing here next season", there's all sorts of things going on in your mind as well as the lack of form, not any of them the actual game itself. It's easy and lazy to say "but they're professionals", you're a professional at your job, haven't you had a bad day at the office because you've learnt some bad news about some one you admire, or even care about? Your mind isn't on the job, as much as you try you cant help but make silly little mistakes.

Not sure if that arguement is based totally on supposition or you have some insider knowledge of what went on in the dressing room before sundays game.
The point I'm making is that any chance the players had to save CP (if they even knew that he was to be sacked) was to put in a perfomance. I think it's fair to say they didn't.
Jose will do things the Charlton way win at millwall and everyone will suck him off just like when that Pratt Pardew had us beat west ham 4-0 and then lead us to relegation ...........Charltonised eventually !

Pah! It will never catch on, we know what is best.
Its the bit at 2:21 that I think we're fucked lol!
lol turns out that was AA

Jose Riga - New Puppet/Yes Man
Acceptance of relegation no matter how mathmatically possible to stay up it is would be suicide here.
