  • Just got on the vomit commit home from Victoria.. 22:37. It's actually not delayed (yet) so me leaving work and getting smashed at leaving drinks may have worked out for the best. Although.. knowing me I've got on the wrong bloody train and not noticed...

Astonishingly self centred Announcement at Dartford station this morning".

"with high temperatures expected this week we recommend that passengers carry a bottle of water. If you feel ill on the train seek assistance at the next station. Do not push the emergency buttons as this will result in delays to services"

WELL TURN THE FUCKING HEATING OFF YOU WEAPONS GRADE INCOMPETENTS!

Oh, and sorry if I have a coronary and cause you a bit of inconvenience. Tosspots.

And breathe. Nice day out. Happy Monday y'all.

I can only commiserate. Good luck to you all.
  • You lot love it when the trains are fucked so that you can post a rant on here.

You want the system to fail.

Thankfully I don't have to commute anymore but I don't understand all the posts about the heating being on.

I always assumed this was controlled by the driver, and if so, why doesn't anybody challenge him or her when the train reaches its destination.

if you tweet @southeastern to ask them to contact the driver to get it turned off they say it's turned on or off at the depot?!

Maybe everyone should start pulling the emergency cord until they turn it off.

I tend to sit at the back of the train in the morning as it's less busy. Invariably, the driver sits at the front so communicating with him/her is not easy! When I'm on a train that terminates at my stop to become an outgoing service have challenged the incoming driver as he walks past me to get to the front to drive the train back down the line. Occasionally they say "fair enough mate, will do". More often than not they either ignore me or give the response about the depot. I've made a formal customer complaint and received no response.

What works what doesn't at moment. Got to go centre of town tomorrow so it's either down tonight and train into town in morning or early drive and train in from northern edges.
    Any guidance appreciated.

As soon as the train stops the driver is out the door before you can peg it down the platform to ask him/her.

That's because he's late for his tea break.
  • 'I always assumed this was controlled by the driver'

The heating is not controlled by the driver, there are thermostats in each coach. The problem is this time of year when it's cooler in the mornings and windows are open, the draught can cause thermostats to switch the heating on. The thermostats used to be isolated during maintenance exams in the summer months and reinstated during the autumn to prevent this. Quite unbelievable, although not surprising I guess, that southeastern can't deal with such a simple issue.

I'm lead to believe that they get a 7 minute "turnaround period" after a train reaches its' destination. This gets cut dramatically if the train arrives late though.

Just took 20 minutes to get from Charing Cross to Waterloo East, sat there for 25 minutes until the driver predicted another 40 minutes to get to London Bridge.

I gave up and got a tube to North Greenwich and a bus, if it doesn't clear up it could be carnage in this heat heading home in rush hour.

Got to Charing X, nothing coming in or out.

Got a tube to Victoria and just left on the 15:39. Anyone stuck at work till 5 should stay and have a drink cos I can't see much happening before then.

Again?! These c#%ts are seriously taking the piss now. Well they were already, but now they're doing it a bit more.

When is someone in a position of power going to actually come out and take some action?! Disgraceful.

I got the 13:52 and I'm still fighting my way home.

    I genuinely hate SouthEastern.

Just hope everyone else has better luck getting home.
