  • Agreed Bailly seems to have decent experience and still young for a keeper.
  • I think we will announce at least 1-2 signings today

Belgian reporter on twitter saying we're after Logan Bailley, who's a Belgian goalkeeper. He's currently a free agent.

Saw that on Football Rumours but nowhere official. Good signing for them if true.

  • I don't know what that says

Standard Liege should do some cleaning in the nucleus at the beginning of new season and both players will leave the club quickly. This is Yoni Buyens and Danny Verbeek should join Charlton and Utrecht respectively.

Midfielder Standard Liege, Yoni Buyens should not get playing time during the season and it would therefore decided to request a transfer to management. The player should cross the Channel to evolve Chartlon.

Danny Verbeek never really got his chance on the banks of the Meuse and the player should definitely leave Standard Liege to join FC Utrecht.

Well cover it up again, quickly. It's not a pleasant sight.
  • More Buyens talk here..

    Google translation..

Yoni Buyens shirt could change in a few weeks. We already mentioned, it is possible that changing the colors of Charlton next season. His manager confirmed that the two parties had started negotiations. His passage to England depends on them and the fact that it has been there a few dad. The player wants to weigh the pros and cons before making a decision. Two things are certain. First, he does not want to leave Sclessin, quite the contrary, his first intention is to honor the contract he signed there. Charlton but it still remains in the galaxy Duchâtelet. Then there is the agreement with the new coach of Londoners, Bob Peeters. The two men know each other well, they also played together at Lierse. The median has a very good relationship with the former striker and could influence his decision. His manager is adamant, Yoni Buyens take its time and it depends on the negotiations that are underway

. By cons, what is certain is that Igor Vetokele evolve Charlton next season. The attacker Copenhagen still under contract with the Danes, will sign his contract Wednesday in England and spend the medical examination Saturday.

The name of Logan Bailly also circulates in connection with Charlton, the Liege was also a teammate Bob Peeters at Genk.

  • If I start following Standard Liege I'll have a good grasp on how good these players are, maybe that's RD's plan all along! P.s. keep reading his name Yossi Benayoun, probably prefer this fella though..
  • All I know for sure is that if I handed my old grandad (God rest his soul) the Charlton team sheet for Brentford his reaction would be priceless. Plus I would probably learn a few more swear words into the bargain...

Buyens is the ideal replacement for Poyet.
  • I'm going for feeling optimistic on the signings we are hopefully making. Clean slate for the season for everyone for me.

First step identified by RD in order to conquer as per Sepp Blatter's vision of inter-planetary championships, huh?!

I am becoming more positive. I guessed this was going to be a window when we would not have heard of most of the signings.

I always look for a connection in a deal and it appears with this latest clutch of possibilities that they have worked with Bob Peeters before , so are likely to be his own signings and are not foisted upon him by ' galaxy Duchatelet' . This is different to January when although SCP knew Ardajevic from Leicester. There was no link with Thuram , Nego , Reza or Koc

... and dare I suggest perhaps part of the reason Peeters got the job over (for example) Riga? Personal experience of decent players he can be sure will buy into his style of play, and won't be expensive? You could of course make the same point regarding Powell's signings but there clearly just wasn't the same trust in CP's judgment there appears to be in Bob's. The fact they are new to the Championship may be alarming on some level, on the other hand they are fresh and without preconceptions - personally I would prefer to take a chance on a talented newcomer over a tried, tested but at most workmanlike journeyman (Hughes being the honourable exception and I hope to see a few of his calibre/charisma join the ranks too.)
  • This thread has actually been quite interesting the last couple of days! And has actually brought up the odd rumour!
