Minus the average away support and free tickets at The Valley and they average around the same as us these days...but by charging about a third less.
Well it's a fact that we take more in gate receipts than you. You're not a premier league club anymore you know.
Nice try but it's not true. Your matchday income (£5.4m) was only £200,000 short of Charlton's in 2012/13 (£5.6m, eighth best in the division) because it included your share from an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley and whatever you earned in the run to get there.
In 2011/12 Millwall's matchday income was £4.6m in the Championship - Charlton's was £5.1m in League One.
It is true Millwall fans pay more on average (and more than fans of most other Championship clubs) and it may be the correct strategy for the club given its relative inability to expand its support. But it does not as a matter of fact generate more income than Charlton's approach does for Charlton.
Back on topic, who'd have guessed the best men for the job the next two times it came up after Powell left were both Belgians?

José Riga, which has managed to keep Charlton, however, is replaced overnight by ... Bob Peeters!
Wednesday, José Riga had yet been Duchâtelet Roland on the line, it felt to want to give a little time to think before making a decision. This means that if Charlton out of trouble in the Premiership now to the general satisfaction fell down from his chair Thursday morning learning the appointment of Bob Peeters at the head of "Addicks. "
"Even if no renewal clause had been expected at the signing of the contract binding me to the London club, which I gladly accepted, I do not imagine for a moment that it stops this way , so brutally. Without bragging on my part, including supporters, we had been very satisfied with the good turn of events and the work I could do in a competition that I had a lot of fun to discover. Now, to know why I have no voice, it remains a total mystery to me. "
@Yann897 - what's your take on this Yann? I thought you had it on good authority that Riga didn't want the job....
Really don't see why it's me people have got to dig me out Iv seen two journos put the opposite on twitter but because it don't toe the line with your little negative clique you gotta come at me being mugs ! I'm not the only one who said it and I just put it on here so other people could see , I was told not to talk about it anyway by Prague so why don't we all just wait and see like he said .

I was underwhelmed when Chris Powell got the job. I was underwhelmed when Jose Riga got the job Being underwhelmed doesn't make for it being a bad appointment. Can't we just wait and see. Plenty of time to hang the bloke if it goes pear shaped. Let's not do it before he gets appointed.
Actually am really p!ssed off with this news. 1) I believe Riga has talent. 2) Changing manager regularly is a recipe for disaster. 3) Last time we tried a lump from a local rival, we know what happened.

If that is actually a direct quote from Riga then RD has treated him like shit, and has immediately gone down in my estimation in regards to man management of our football club. He deserved a thanks and that'll be all at the very least.
However, in the bigger picture, JR was brought in on a short term coach. Perhaps Peeters has been a target for this season for a while and Riga will be asked to do something else.
Its only been 6 hours since this whole episode has unfolded, so its still early days. Lets see how it ends.

Peeters was unemployed between January and November 2013. Considering it would have taken him at least 3 months to start catching the eye with his current employer, I can't imagine we've been chasing him for that long.

Rational response: Let's give this guy a chance. Neither Curbs nor Powell had any management experience before Charlton and they were both successes. He has spent some time in English football and reports suggest he's a talented tactician, good man-manager and gets the most out of his squad, particularly when youth blends in. He can become a Charlton legend if given time, and that brief aberration at Millwall will be long forgotten.
Emotional response: Oh ffs, still not fully over Powell and now I've got to grieve Riga as well? Who is this ape that RD can bring in for tuppence-h'appeny into our magnificant club? etc. etc.
Once the new head coach is in,it wont be long before the new players will be in place, just wonder what nationality they will be
It's a tricky one to figure out, isn't it?! France - no. Germany - no. Netherlands - no. Luxembourg - no. I'm struggling here....
Iranian?
Pedantic but correct, although he moved to Netherlands when he was 8, so not exactly born and bred in Tehran. Let's just agree that it's highly unlikely that we'll be signing anyone who hasn't sampled moules et frites at some point during their previous employment.
"Certainly there was no clause in my contract stating that I am at Charlton in rescue, but considering how this happened and superb relations maintained with the players and fans, j was hoping to have my say for a contract extension, "he said bitterly. This was not the case. "On several occasions, I had expressed to Roland Duchâtelet, I expressed the desire to stay at Charlton, a great club that suited me perfectly. Again, even if he is the decision maker, j ' expected, given the way events had taken place, it gives me the priority ... "He concludes:" Why do I more say? It remains a total mystery to me ... "
The article also says that Luzon will remain at Leige despite rumours in Belgium of a move to Charlton.

Roland is just teaching me a life lesson that I must never get attached to anything.

It is possible to be underwhelmed with the news but still give him our support !
Although could be worse....first thing I heard this morning was "ex-Spanner to take over Addicks".....my first thoughts were Dennis Wise......phew.
I was told not to talk about it anyway by Prague so why don't we all just wait and see like he said .

If the reported comments from Riga are accurate though, my scepticism of Roland intensifies though and don't help my confidence for the close season.
