  • Worried that he talks about outs and a revolving door. Don't think we can really afford to lose anyone else...

    Ajose
    Ba
Some of the U23 players out on loan

Wouldn't hurt the squad too much IMHO depending on which youth players and the quality of the replacement for Ajose.
  • I really don't think he fancies Arose.

    Boywer in the building

Looking for another player better than we have at the top of the team

    Millwall

    Bringing his son with him?

By the sounds of it, I'm guessing 3 out and 2 in. Hopefully two of the three are Johnson and Ba, but just have to see. The other being a striker.

He talks a lot, but he talks a lot of sense as well. When you actually listen and understand what he trying to explain, he wants to do well and knows he has a lot to learn in coaching still, but I am starting to like him.

A win on Saturday and I think his name will start to get sung...

Totally agree with this. I'm warming to him as well. Let's hope he can deliver

Don't blame him. He's been so lightweight
  • We can make do with with Ba, Johnson and some youngsters, but let's see where we are on Feb 1st; if any of Tex, Bauer, Rudd, and Watt go then it is just the regime sticking to their plan... ROLAND OUT!
  • We have no control over Rudd. He is not our player.
  • Watt is a better player than Ajose anyway

  • what's the talk about Bowyer?
  • Watt is a better player than Ajose anyway

Far better in every way, including attitude, from what I've seen.

I don't feel that Ajose has been given a fair try really. Just hasn't worked out for him with Slade's overly defensive and non creative tactics and now KR's formation preference

That's the problem when you change managers to one with a diffferent tactical philosophy...

That's good news for KR;s his wife ;-)

  • Hoping he encourages the midfield to get close to Ben Thompson and give him a good kick or two. Need to get him off the ball and plus he's a dirty spanner.
  • what's the talk about Bowyer?

His McDonald's ban is up, so he was popping by to see if anyone wants any nuggets
  • Says it is the top end he wants to get someone in. Nicky out and ? In ?

I dunno, he came in under Slade, but then he didn't seem to have the first idea how to utilise Ajose properly. Clearly we didn't create enough chances in general with Slade, but Ajose scored most of his goals last season running on to balls and Slade doesn't play that way, so it was an odd purchase IMO. Unless of course, we were already down the road to signing him before Slade arrived, so he had little choice.

    this, same for Holmes too.

  • If Rudd is recalled we will definitely need goalkeeping cover.

Ajose's scoring record seemed to be a knack of pouncing on loose balls in the box, not sure he adds a lot beyond that.

I wouldn't kick him out of bed if he farted.

    Poyet
  • Good press conference that. Yes he likes to talk, but he says all the right things & I'm warming to him. As has been said above, if Watt wants to be here long term & is focused, he's a better player than Ajose
  • Notice he doesn't mention the skipper when he lists his midfield options. I suspect he sees him almost solely as a coach now with the odd bench appearance thrown in.

Shame I really want him to get double figures goals this season. I love a good knee slide! And a Jacko goal always feels more special than any other...
  • Ajose has scored 7 goals in a team that creates very few chances and was never set up to play to his strengths.

He deserves a go in a more attacking set up. You don't fluke 25 goals at this level, and I honestly believe that if we use him correctly and give him some service he will get 15-20 this season.

My thoughts exactly. Yes, he has missed some sitters, but all strikers do, the good thing is he is getting in those positions in the first place.

If we are able to accommodate him into the team, I think he will score a few. His all round game isn't like other players we have, but Robinson has said he wants to score a lot of goals, why would it make sense to get rid of someone who has proven to score a lot in this league?

Personally hope he stays, as we may regret it if he goes to another team and bangs them in.

Just have to see how these next couple of weeks or so play out.

I cant think of that many sitters that he's actually missed.

I remember a one-on-one he got for himself very early days in the season yet hit that wide whilst he also missed a header against Chesterfield (?) yet dont think he's ever scored a proper header before in his career (Sorry but his first goal against Walsall wasnt a header, the ball hit him in the face).
