Indeed it is. The five highest scores were all for teams that won. Gayle was only three runs short of breaking Luke Wright's record score of 153* and Graham Napier's 152* for T20s in this country. Both scored on the postage stamp pitch that is Chelmsford.
I mentioned after Friday's game that I didn't think Sam Northeast had an innings in him when he made his 96 against Surrey but he surpassed that today. The two innings combined mean that he has scored 210 off 105 balls and given that he is responsible for winning us both matches it is somewhat of a pity that his form has been somewhat overshadowed by the man from Jamaica.
I listened to it unfolding on the radio: BBC Somerset had it online.
Haha, cheers. I went to go and have a net!
Great stuff from Kent. What a brilliant game, 450 runs in three hours!
Should add that a really good website for Kent games (and all county and international games) is espncricinfo, it gives ball by ball updates and good stats etc, worth looking at if you're following a game.

Unless you are at Beckenham where they use Cricinfo as the scoreboard in between showing shots of the crowd so the score is always a ball or two behind!

Ha, true. Can't tell that when you're sat at home though :-)

Gayle finishes on 151 not out. Somerset finish on 224-7.
Thanks Callum your updates were far quicker than the bbc website- where did you get it from?

Important over from Riley mid-way through the match too.
Credit to Gayle, it sounded like he just was not going to give up.
Another captain's innings from Sam Northeast too, what a season he is having.
Gayle's innings was the 6th highest individual innings. He, of course, already holds the record of 175* - for Royal Challengers.

Was out all afternoon & switched on 5 Live around 5.30 to hear the news of Gayle's remarkable innings...
Thought "sh*t" !
Then the commentator said " But it wasn't enough to beat Kent who went on to win by 3 runs !"
Fannydabbydozy !!!

Could have done with a roof on it on Friday and it was proper freezing when the sun went down and you're sat in the shadow!
Here's our irreverent take on the cricket at Beckenham:
