  • Almost guaranteed a home quarter final. Sussex and Hampshire must win all their remaining games, while we lose ours.
  • cracking win, didn't look like we were going to do that. Guarantees qualification and in fact top 3 finish which means avoiding birm bears and Mcullum in QF. On more win out of 2 to win the group
  • terrific performance.
thought we were gonna be up against it but spitfires prevail once again.
  • I can barely believe this is the KCCC thread. Great stuff from us!

Sussex and Hampshire play each other on 17th so does that mean we are definitely top two?
  • Does anyone know why we only play 14 group games, when there are 9 teams in each group?
  • We are the bees knees
  • WOW !

Out all day and not even thought about the T20 game but what a last few overs ( thanks for the updates , guys)

Kiss of death when we go to T/Wells next Friday, I'm afraid.....

Yes looks like you are right, which looks like Beckenham on August 12. I presume this will be against the 3rd or 4th team in north section.

Yep. It'll be in Beckenham on the 12th, 13th or 14th (as the Women's Ashes Test is at St Lawrence from the 11th to the 14th)

Or possibly in Canterbury on Saturday 15th.

    Result, thanks.

I'm in Spain throughout August and would have been a shame to miss a t20 at Beckenham as well as the amount of Charlton games I'm going to miss!

Kent lost the toss and have been put it, 3pm start, 51 overs to be bowled today.
  • 48-2

    Denly b SM Curran 1
    Ball c Ansari b TK Curran 9

    D B-D 13*
    Northeast 18*
  • 88-3

    D B-D LBW b Ansari 39

    Northeast 31*
  • 99-3

    Bad light stopped play
  • Just home - left at 63-2. DBD looked in very good nick and played three lovely on drives. Shame he's now out. Northeast also played OK, with hard cuts and a couple of straight drives too. Pitch was quite green at the start, and has a short boundary on the school side. Surrey have a very young team out, other than Sanga and Batty.

Surrey have inexplicably picked a very weak seam attack with only T.Curran as the front line quick! Burke and S.Curran are both all rounders and shouldn't be more than fourth seamer at best! So unless the pitch is a turning wicket we are gonna struggle to bowl you our twice!

Kent can find a way. Don't worry!

Northeast and Denly are the only two batsmen averaging over 30 in the 4 day game.

    More bad light
  • Not that the light really seems to make much difference to our batting!

Oh is that right. I had it down as 12th but that is probably wrong. Just booked something up for 13th so sod's law!
Don't really want 15th as that is Derby A. Was thinking of having few days up that way. CAFC at Derby on sat and at forest on Tues. Kent play at Trent bridge on the Monday in the 50 over game.

    Hmm, thanks for that, redman.

    Sounds like a cunning plan.

  • 150-5

    Stevens out
  • 156-6

    Harmison goes for 17
  • It's incredible to think that we have only scored 300 plus in one CC match this season. And that was twice against Glamorgan in the match that commenced on the 10th May.

  • Why are we struggling so much in the longer form of the game ?
I know there's a huge difference between 4 day and T20 but surely the confidence of T20 must filter through to the longer forms ?
