    85-2

    Key went for 5

Well, at least we can't be relegated.

Oh dear. You got for an hour or so and hope when you get back we haven't lost another wicket. Well we haven't. Not one anyway but four.

    190-6

    Sam Northeast 43*

    214-7

Matt Coles bowled for 19 by that one Test to date spinner Simon Kerrigan
  • Options
And that's all for today folks. We are 230 runds behind with three wickets in hand.

Its a horror show, I think Kent should seriously consider becoming part of some cricketing network scheme

I like it. They could sell Darren Stevens to Hampshire for being too old, but repaint the Frank Woolley.
  • Options
    240-8

    Claydon gone for 21

To be fair, the likes of Lancashire should never be in the 2nd division
  • Options
    247-9

    Northeast out for 55

Today the summer 14 man playing squad for the Kent U12s was announced and pleased to say Seb is once again in it.

It is an extremely hard process, for kids of Seb's age especially. It will though be far harder for those not considered, at this stage of their development, quite good enough. Seb will, undoubtedly, miss those who were left out this time especially his room mate at last year's Taunton Festival. Hopefully they will all come back better and stronger and continue to enjoy playing cricket.

252 all out so trail by 192 runs and we have been made to follow on.
  • Options
The really frustrating aspect of out batting at the moment is that most of our players are actually getting in. And then getting out. Eight of our top nine scored at least 15 in the first innings here.

Sam Billings set to play in the ODI against Ireland on 8 May.

D B-D, following the aforementioned trend, out for 18.

48-1 and still 144 to avoid an innings defeat.

    Kent 142-3 still 50 behind.

    Denly got 60

Kent 142-3, play stopped. We need it to rain for a day and a bit, unfortunately forecast in Manchester tomorrow not too bad.
  • Options
4 overs will be bowled from 6:20, horrible little session.
  • Options
Survived the tricky 4 over spell without any further losses.
  • Options
Anyone think we will last past lunch?
  • Options
We might make it past lunch but can't see us getting enough runs to post Lancs a challenging total. Hope I'm wrong. It will be played two lost two whilst Essex who look weaker on paper are likely to be played 2 won 2. (If rain doesn't intervene). Could it be we need new direction / drive on the coaching front ? In my opinion the team underperformed last season and it hasn't looked good so far this season although admittedly early days. With Jimmy Adams and Rob Key at the helm we are just too laid back.

The batting line up looks potentially decent on paper, but many of the younger players perhaps haven't kicked on in the way we would have hoped?
  • Options
It is still early season and I wouldn't necessarily put the blame on the younger players.
Denly, Nash, Key and Stevens are in our top six and will all need to prove this season that they have still got it.

Sam Northeast has scored two 50's in his first three innings this season which only then leaves D B-D and I'm sure he will come good.

24 needed to make them bat again.....

    Match delayed by rain.

Lets hope it's a long delay.
