  • Hope we've already banked the money for Burstow*

*yes, I know, a minor thing when you see what is going on in Ukraine.
Surely that’s a deal already done, so it’s a bill that needs paying.

Wonder if they will still sing his name this weekend?
Wouldnt surprise me, they'll probably see the Government and the Premier League as the bad guys for forcing sanctions on them.
  • The merchandise shop will be closed, wonder if they'll be allowed to sell programmes or the catering outlets will be operating (although they might be franchised)?
  • Imagine the sort of prices, Chelsea season-tickets will be trading at now!!!!
  • No away fans for the remainder. I wonder if some have already gone on sale?
  • What'll happen if Chelsea get to the FA Cup or Champions League Finals?

Presume they'll have no fans there, or will they be able to purchase because it'll be through the FA and UEFA?
  • Surely Chelsea players can walk away for free?
No, wages still being paid so contacts are still valid.

Probably through those...or through ticket-agencies and touts.

  • Catering is still being allowed.

They now can't buy or sell players, which, in the medium term, seriously impacts them.

And, more importantly, their value must now have fallen off a cliff face.
They have got a squad of about 50 which will help - you'd imagine players like Ampadu, Gallagher and Gilmour will be brought back in.

What's most interesting for me is that they can't offer new contracts, short term that means Rudiger and Christensen going this summer (though that was likely already), but depending on how long this carries on, could mean expensive players going at the end of their contracts, one by one.
  • No new contracts, anyone know who is out of contract at the end of the season?

    Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger.

  • They are allowed to spend a maximum of £20,000 for travel to away games, which could be a real problem for overseas Champions League matches

Christensen, Rudiger and Saul - who were most likely all off anyway.
But depending on how long this lasts Kante and Jorginho expire next year.

Probably, they were never smart enough to ask where the money came from.

Anyone else got a sneaky feeling the government will absolutely “vary” the conditions as soon as they can, on the quiet?

There’s no way they’ll keep these conditions in place long term.
I wonder if they will 'vary' it if someone agrees to buy the club?

In the main, fans don’t care, they just want success 😞

    Ryanair.
Cattle class train just like the KGB used when sending people eastwards?
  • I hope the 3 Chelsea fans that kicked the granny out of my Liverpool supporting mate in his 60s after the cup final are choking on their own vomit seeing this news.
  • Good to see our loan payments will be frozen - would be even better if they could be donated straightaway to Ukraine.
