From where I was in north upper and pictures I've seen it seems pretty clear that he bulk of people protesting were in the north stand. Amazing really, you'd think our older fans in the bovril zones would have a bit more passion for the club. Clearly happy to turn up, eat a prawn sandwich and a nice warm cup of bovril and fuck off back to Margate.

    *no offence.

Always good to slag off your fellow fans.

Luckily I was still able to support the protest from the west lower as lots of black and white balloons came my way so I held them - along with my mate and two kids

    Someone's been on the maximuscle.

No need to clutter the feed with pointless comments anyway, well done to everyone involved today and let's get something organised for Leeds.

2 minutes after kick off? Would never work at our place. 98% of us are still in the bar at 3:02pm.

Have you tried a good old riot? That's what we always do. A bit retro I know but a lot easier to organise.

Although that's not exactly true these days is it?

Ok, 97% are still in the bar
  • Recorded the game and just watched it. The pre match chat was good, they recognised the problems and discussed in a fair amount of detail.ian Holloway talked like he wanted the job and was going todo it his way- well done.
Sky recognised the protest, KM did not look worried, may be wrong but looked like a smirk on her face.

The Football League programme on Channel 5 managed to just about give the protest no airtime whatsoever.

Okay, I was'nt too impressed with the objectives of the Black and White protest, as I feel it'll be slightly less productive than banging your head against a metal girder. However, it seems that the combination with the 2% protest got a lot of what is a very passive fan base up on their feet (less said about the west, the better) and all captured and discussed on the telly. KM and her minions may yet come to rue taking the urine out of the paying customers quite so foolishly. On to the next game. We need to keep the pressure up, and hey, maybe to placate us we might get thrown a 'proper' manager. After all, JJ got a new contract yesterday, and you have to wonder if that was to offset the Watt loan deal.

I personally think that Joe has done an amazing thing and I hope he keeps Driving this along and enrolling support along the way, I support him in this role he has undertaken, however I don't support any of what is going on within it,

Joe keep doing what your doing, own your part of it and lead the way if you feel so strongly in your beliefs dont be wavered along the path

I've not read the whole thread but my observation is that I couldn't hear those singing, apart from Henry sat in front of me, in the ground or on the tele when I got home.

I couldn't tell who was holding up the 'posters' but is felt, to me, like a minoriry.

I still think it was enough to make a point and the decision from Sky to show a section of fans and then cut to KM who was looking left and right and looking a little uncomfortable, has achieved the aim.

I, still, couldn't, however, feel deflated coming away from the game after seeing us lose 3-0 at home again.

I think today worked, even though I think it was less impacting than many had hoped for.

We do, however, need to inprove on the pitch of we could find ourselves holding these protests in the third division.

Katrien took a leaflet, which is great. However proud she wants to look, she will have given it a proper read. Combined with the fact that probably 40-50% of those present participated in the protest makes it a great success in my eyes, so well done to those that made it happen.

Having watched the recording this evening, my husband and I were shocked to see how empty the West Stand looked. We sit at the back of the Lower West adjacent to the Director's Box and don't fully appreciate just how few people there are in the ground this season. I hope that KM and RD were watching the whole recording too, they might have learned something. I thought that Ian Holloway summed up our situation perfectly.

Whilst driving home we were listening to a discussion on the radio about the Premier League and someone (I think it may have been Ian Wright) made the comment that the bottom two teams in the Premier League have Managers who don't choose the players they want in their team and I thought this applies to us too. RD needs to understand that we need a Manger who understands the Championship and who has the final say on who should be in his team, as the current system just isn't working.

@LeaburnForEngland not sure where you are but in our bit of the WU most of our row was up, not many in front but after a few calls of siddarn I glanced behind and got the impression overall it was 25-30%. Certainly a sizeable group.

Can I ask why it would give you the hump?

Personally, I wasn't trying to force leaflets on people that didn't want one but I was visible and audible so those who did want to take part, could.

By not renewing their season tickets next season when/if we're in League One ?

That kind of "protest" would be a little too late, methinks.

Don't feed the trolls mate. It's nearly midnight and they get particularly fierce around now. Nobody forced anything on anybody today and those with a problem are the same types who would have a problem if we were top of the league by 10 points.

I wouldn't say people like wiwlb are trolls far from it, I'd say they don't like a lot of what's going on but the protest is becoming divisive and there's a theme coming through that if you don't agree your not a proper fan or care as much about the club than others

Yeah because that's what I said. Genuinely not looking for an argument. I'm just frustrated like a lot of fans and am of the mind that I'd rather we did something that not everybody agrees with, than do nothing and slip gently into that good night!
  • ^ haven't really bothered reading the thread as just too many posts since I last looked but pretty sure the point of the flyer was to ask for greater communication with the fan base. Not sure how anyone could or would have an issue with that.

Because paradoxically people love authority, whilst at the same time don't like being 'told what to do'.
    Yes, it is strange.
