If 50 per cent hold them up, it sends a clear message. I reckon it will be much more. Was a stupid statement by KM (what's new?) and is a clever response to embaress her but not affect the team.

She provided the ball across goal ... just tapping it in :-)
Just my opinion but this has got classic Charlton cringe written all over it
Only being known by people who use Charlton Life and other social media (of which many wont agree with protesting) Early ko, less chance of dutch courage Protest is too early in the game, there will still be loads coming in the ground (early Saturday football, those who cant watch us without having at least 6 pints etc) A few balloons being let off that will largely go unnoticed A pretty naff song (sorry) Lots of murmuring and confused looks We have never been good at 'stand up if' songs, even Curbs last game there were many that didnt bother
The way the club seems to have given up on Tony Watt only highlights why there does need to be some form of protest and you may well get more than 2% of the ground joining in, but not a lot more in my opinion.
Good luck to you anyway. I will probably decide whether to join in on the day as I suspect will many others..

where to start?
cringe? what is cringeworthy about it?
only known by those using CL and social media? apart from the 10,000 handed a leaflet you mean or buying the Voice
too early? the second minute is significant and yes there will be a few latecomers but loads I doubt it
may well get more than 2% joining in? more like 2% who won't
I could go on, a naff song (suggest better then), a few balloons (more than a few) etc etc
this is being organised by an 18 yr old who is putting the rest of us to shame so instead of all the negativity shown some support eh?

we only need 2% of 10k people that will probably be there i'm sure more than 200 people will protest on Saturday - thus a sucess
As I've said before, it's all about getting the ball rolling and in essence it doesn't matter how this is done. Even if it just causes confusion amongst viewers, it's bound to put Katrien into a mini hiding. It also shows we aren't afraid to start spending a bit of time/money/organisation amongst us to show our dismay.
If let's say 4,000 hold up the card, that's circa 40% of the attending fans, an incredibly vast way away from KM's 2%. And the chances are it will increase when you counter in those who are boycotting/got rid of their ST's etc of which people have and are.

Only about 2 dissenters on this thread - Approx 100 posts - I guess we know what 2% you are in ;-)

Great to see you sticking together with fellow fans. And moreover, suggesting a better idea and having the initiative to give it a go yourself...
If we join in numbers, showing support before and during this protest, none of your fears/criticism will apply. So let's put negativity and apathy aside for a moment and give this some proper effort on Saturday.
There have been parts of the Black/White campaign that I thought could be stronger or whatever, but it's not like I've brought loads of ideas to the table so I'm throwing my weight behind something with a bit of momentum. Let's fucking stick together on this and show that Charlton fans can be a united force with a real voice, not a rabble of apathetic moaners.
Thing is Southend, the posters will have an explanation on them. This will enlighten those that aren't on social media.
as will undoubtedly some local press stories in the run up to the game, blog features, the volunteers handing out 10,000 of the things which have an explanation on. Who knows, may even be a Twitter / Facebook / Social 'flashmob' campaign later in the week.
And don't knock the reach of social media. I sent one tweet on it yesterday and I can see that from the Impressions breakdown that 1,564 saw that tweet. By Saturday, there will be very few people that don't know about this.
As said earlier, lets save the post-mortem for after, and if it is something people think is worth supporting, do something to help support it. I'd rather do something else than stand in the street handing out cards, but please help bolster the number of us doing that by sending @Addickted2TheReds an inbox and help giving this an increased chance of being a success.
I sent an email to the guy who covered the game v Fulham.
He said he wasn't doing this one but I've sent him a brief description of what's going on and attached the images of the front and back of the posters.
He said he would forward to the producers for Saturday.

But you've been very critical in the past about the owner not caring, club changing, feeling apathy / disconnected etc.
Doesn't really carry much weight if you're not sure whether you can't be bothered to stand up for 60 seconds and hold up a bit of card.

Hold arms out wide and bounce on your toes.
Look at away fans not game
Well, that's what the Spanners do.

Fingers crossed it gets spoken about.
@AshBurton has just donated another 250 quid.
I think it's time we stopped accepting donations... definitely enough to work with!
