It looks to me that sadly there is at least a shred of something. Peter Varney and Airman can be painted, as they often are, as bitter ex-employees but the email trail indicates that something hopeful was being stymied. I hope Prague is right that there can be a genuine reconciliation between two high profile Charlton men, but reconciliation will depend on cool heads and honesty from all sides with no point scoring. Richard Murray undoubtedly did a whole lot of good for Charlton and that needs to be respected, but Richard can recognise the new reality and help, or events will sideline him anyway and his influence will be disregarded. I was at the fans meeting in November when Richard was there and his contribution on that occasion was unconvincing to me. Others have reported on him checking his phone under the table during what many saw as an important and seminal meeting, which isn't very impressive. The new reality, and there is a lot at stake for the reputation of Peter Varney and Airman, the new reality is that if a deal can be struck there is a buyer out there (I have heard more than one). Roland is no longer the only game in town even if he is the keeper of the keys right now. We have a glimmer of hope. The only issue for me is, is it supposed to be a sit in after the game, or all round the back by Sam's statue? I vote for the main entrance, I will be there.
Murray has the chance now to step away from the current regime to back the protests & the potential takeover, it may wound his pride and most likely mean he has no more power then most of us fans but this could be his last chance to salvage any respect from your average Charlton fan.
I hope he takes that chance.
Sadly for all concerned I think it's too late if as has been reported he denied in the directors box on Monday any knowledge of PV wanting a meeting when he has actually been copied in on the infamous emails! Unless of course they went to his junk mail I hope I'm wrong.
True, I just would like to see him do the right thing now, out of the respect for things he did in the past, when my generation fell in love with this great club.
It would really help if people stopped proposing alternatives and just go with one thing. We can try other stuff another time.
You need to brainstorm ideas thats why they are being mentioned.
No you don't, not on this thread. Just get on board with the OP and turn up if you can. Discussing other options is just going to cause confusion and possibly dilute the protest that's been put forward.

He's been doing the wrong things on a consistent basis since 2006 (his decisions/ego ultimately responsible for our relegation from the Prem right through to what's happening now), so I wouldn't hold your breath.
sorry Airman, I confused your post with Kent Red's
But my answer to your question lies in my earlier remarks about the personalities of both parties. Whatever the rights and wrongs, neither is going to back down easily in public. You know that.
You realise that implicit in that is the recognition that Murray needs to "back down", whereas if he was entirely innocent in this episode there would be no backing down to be done. I think Richard has a choice - he can be part of a solution or he can go down with the Belgians, because it's clear they are going down and at the moment they are taking the club and him with them. When he tells people we both know well that Fraeye is the right appointment and, separately, that Meire is doing a good job, I assume that he has chosen the latter option.
I am aware, as I referenced obliquely in the Voice, that Richard has spoken to an alternative takeover interest, which may or may not be credible, but why would RD not want to hear about both? And how much has he told RD about that?

Oh I don't disagree, just respectful nostalgia I guess, me wanting to see him leave with some sort of respect.
As if one thing this current ownership has done it make me even more grateful to Varney, Murray, Curbs and all the other people who deserve to be named, for what we had in the 90s & much of the 00s, not many generation of Charlton fan gets it as easy as mine did to fall in love with this great club.
I will 100% be there. But, my questions are: 1.Is there a risk some people will take it too far? We want this to be peaceful and effective and the actions of a few people could ruin it 2. If we win (i know, not very likely) how do we ensure we still get people to attend? 3. What is our message? Sort your s***t out and start managing the club with a modicum of sense or simply, get out of our club?

1. yes, but we, me and you and the majority of sensible but unhappy fans, shout down the sexist etc chants and stop people who try anything stupid.
2. yes, that will be a risk but that is out of the fans control. it would be MORE effective if we demonstrated after a win than after a defeat as it shows that it isn't just about one result or performance. I hope we win the game BTW
3. I think it is gone passed "sort it out". We tried that with the Spell it out in black and white aims and they wouldn't listen. So now it has to be "it's time to go". That their is a potential (and it is very much still only a potential in my eyes) buyer out there even more so as no one can say "Who else then?"

"Get out of our club" I believe from Airman's posting.
There's nothing for them to sort out, they've made it clear what they're doing.
Number 1 is a risk worth taking - either do it or do nothing.
Murray has the chance now to step away from the current regime to back the protests & the potential takeover, it may wound his pride and most likely mean he has no more power then most of us fans but this could be his last chance to salvage any respect from your average Charlton fan.

Unlikely as the first mail to copy him in was from Roland himself.
There will almost certainly people trying to take it too far. As Henry says we should try and stop this. However even if we can't we must NOT walk away we must stay and show strength in numbers whatever. It actually shows more if we win and still protest.
Can we also stand united in this battle. Please no more of this RM/PV he says/she says rubbish. Airman has proved there are other options. That is enough for now. The rest is irrelevant for now.
How do people think the club will react to the protest? Will they just pull down the blinds on the lounges facing the car park or have the belmarsh bullies try to move us along? I think if the latter is done with their usual subtle tactics, this is where we have to make sure things don't get ugly. In that it's our message that gets reported rather than a few scuffles. As katrien is an advocate of taking pics, perhaps if the belmarsh bullies try to move us on, a few make sure they know they are being filmed on mobiles.
All right now, for all you boppers out there in the big smoke, all you street people with an ear for the action, I've been asked to relay a request from the Belmarsh Bullies. It's a special for the Addicks, that real live bunch from Charlton, and I do mean the Addicks. Here's a hit with them in mind...
I like the interest and support this is gaining and it seems that there is the distinct possibility of wider recognition of our current plight. To me this protest isn't about making out point to the board. They don't and won't listen. It is about furthering the knowledge amongst our own fan base and beyond of the huge disregard and disrespect being shown to us, our history and status within English football. We are fortunate in that we are well regarded by by many in English football who consider us to be a welcoming and friendly club. If the likes of Collymore and Savage are starting to take an interest then we must build on this.
Recent revelations have disgusted me. However they have also reinvigorated me to come to the Valley and do something about this mess. Doing nothing will garner nothing.
Duchatalet, Meire and unfortunately Murray are all complicit in this and must take their share of the blame and the abuse.

This has become more than a simple get them out protest. We now know there is interest in the club from others so it has to be a demand to talk to them (and leave with some credit). It should be a no brainer given the current direction of the club. Even if we do win, supporters will want to get behind that. I can't see us winning though!

Is it dear oh dear
Yes chippy it is. The bloke who suggested this protest has obviously got his finger nearer the pulse than me or you. The protest is unambiguous non-violent and as simple as you could wish for. Rather than get all school girl sulky just get on board.

Film them, film them, film them. Even if you don't know how to do it on your camera like me, even if the battery runs out, hold the phone up to their faces.
Would it be worth emailing the VOTV article to the Forest Board so it doesn't get spun that "they're just unhappy with the decor in the toilets" as to why we're protesting? Not that it matters a toss what other clubs think of us but would make it uncomfortable and harder to laugh off in their presence.

As soon as a 'She's got chlamydia' type chant springs up, we need to drown it out with one of our own. As someone above said, please don't walk away in disgust, just help to refocus the demonstration.

I like the cut of your jib, sirjohn
Following my unFannylike demeanour at the Wolves game, I too am feeling far more positive since PV's article came to light and the subsequent call to arms. As I posted earlier, I'd rather be in the thick of the action as opposed to sitting on the subs' bench & hoping that others might be able to change the hearts & minds of the Despicable Duo around the table.
This is a great opportunity to show "them" that we mean serious business and at the same time, demonstrate to the football world at large that we will do whatever it takes to save our Club from the slow, painful death that comes ever closer week by week. I'm hoping for a good deal of media coverage on Saturday afternoon and partly because of this, as others have stated, we MUST not resort to chanting obscenities or damaging any property ( wing mirrors of cars in the West Stand car park ?) I'll have my trusty brolly to wrap a few knuckles if need be....
Finally, I believe that Rodney's suggestion of contacting Forest to alert them to our demonstration is a great idea. To have their fans stand up & join in the chants during the match as per Monday last, would be a bonus.

Come out to defend yourself Mr Murray.
And while you're at it tell us what the f**k is going on with OUR football club!

Their owner by coincidence is Kuwaiti.
it's like an adult trying to communicate with a child.
unbelievable.
It's the pdf at the foot of the latest article on there.
