And so the cycle continues. Players leave without replacements being lined up. Big difference between being interested in and signing.
We all knew most of those gone or leaving were out the door, its just the pathetic cack-handed response that grates.
They told us they've learned from their mistakes. They haven't and its happening again. Only this time they don't have a loan window safety net.
£20 placed on us to get relegated again.
They just don't know how to arrest the slide. They thought that by bringing in Slade they would appease us and begin planning for a fresh new beginning, except it has happened that way because they don't know where to look for suitable British replacements. The whole transfer policy in the first full summer we had with them at the helm was to use the network. That ultimately failed so the second summer was to buy foreign because it is cheaper. That definitely didn't work as not one of the signings they made featured toward the end apart from Makienok.
This summer they started on the back foot because we were such a mess and they probably realised they'd be going about it the wrong way, but turning it round is like the old oil tanker analogy. It's going to take time. Time they don't have if they want to hit the ground running. For what its worth, I believe Slade can make us organised and hard to beat, and I think we will achieve mid to lower table. However anything more than that will require an injection of 5/6 good players and more money to be spent. Something I don't think RD is prepared to do given the losses he's already accrued and how the fans perceive him. I have no doubt that in his belligerence, he truly believes he's succumbed to what the fans want by appointing a British manager and buying a few British players. In his head he will tell KM who will tell Slade that you have enough to do the job, get on with it.
Slade being the professional that he is will do what he can, but when I see Jackson starting these friendlies at left wing, a position he could just about manage last time we were in league one back in 2011, that says all you need to know about how clueless this regime is and the utter panic/resignation to their plight
Don't like the idea of a keeper on loan. Plus surely we've got a few quid now to sign one permanently. What the hell is the strategy this summer? It looked like there was a plan when Slade and then Novak, Holmes and Ajose arrived. That's since gone out the window. And no information on Ajose's injury. Is he a long term absentee or is it just a knock as barely reported?
Unless Lionel Messi or Neymar are prepared to swap Barcelona for Nottingham Forest, the Championship club will stay patient in the transfer market, says boss Philippe Montanier.
Tom Heaton just signed a new 4 year deal at Burnley. Not sure when Pope expects to get a look in, what a waste.
I can see Burnley looking to sell Heaton (possibly next Summer), with the fee being increased by the new deal...
He could well be England's no 1 sooner rather than later.
I doubt that. Currently he's 4th choice behind Hart, Forster and Butland. If Ben Foster had been fit enough to go to the Euros, he might have been ahead of Heaton as well
Trouble is... Pope up until this season wasnt getting game time in the Championship so had to drop to League Two (twice) to play any matches, finally this season he managed to play in the Championship far more often than I bet even he expected
Now despite relegation (to a League which is still higher than anything he's ever regularly played at before) he's decided to jump up above the Championship into a League he wont play at for another good couple of years,
I am disappointed to an extent as I thought he was a Footballer who'd want to play rather than sit on the bench
Really don't understand players of that age going to a club to sit on the bench just for the money

I agree, although Scott Carson won player of the year while on loan.

Its a constant game of Jenga between Roland and Katie as they sit by the coffee table.
Each person takes it in turns to pull a piece of the puzzle out of the block before placing a new piece precariously at the top
Saw Dean Brill when he was a youngster at Luton. Decent goalkeeper, a lot of the Luton Town fans felt he'd moved higher up (this was during their descent, they were in L1 at the time). He looked overweight and his distribution was poor. Going on pictures from last year, doesn't seem to be taking care of himself much better these days.

I feel a bit like a scratched record, but WE haven't got a few quid THE NETWORK HAS and it depends whether RD is prepared to let us have a few Euros of it.

Apparently was a good pre-season tour to Austria says Russell Slade...
By the end of the trip there were so few players left we were all able to go out to the local restaurant and have a table of four within 5-minutes rather than waiting a few hours for someone to accommodate twenty players
Latrien is watching a U12 game today and is confident she now knows a good prospect when she sees one.
Our famed medical team have a load of body parts left over from past treatments, and have asked local mad scientist Eddie Frankenstein if we would mind working part time on a Thursday at Sparrows Lane.
Oh and RD, he was too busy gaffer taping his best pair of shoes up to answer my call.

And we got relegated.
He was our only good player (other than maybe Song) in a dreadful season . We've said that about a few since then
