  • Just seen that Teixeira commented 'Hope you stay Patrick' on Bauers latest Instagram post... Interesting?

    Oh great.

  • I've heard of a great negotiating tactic where we loan out our players and sub the wages while their contract runs down.

The other club says maybe if they do good then it will be permanent and our wages sub will fall away.

If they don't do so well the loan may be extended and we get to pay wages on a depreciating asset.

    Happy days.
  • Think they're pretty good mates though, could have been them mucking about.
  • There's plenty of time left if you need one or two players. We need an entire XI. It's not going to happen.

    Is Ajose really injured already?
  • Just over two weeks to go now until Bury, so we need to get cracking in view of the big gaps in both the team and the squad generally. Subject to further departures and the consequential need for replacements, we need - at a minimum - an experienced goalie, at least one central defender and a couple of central midfield players, at least one of whom is capable of playing a forward pass and running with the ball. Hopefully, we'll get one or two in this week.

Yes, the transfer window doesn't close until the end of August, but any manager wants the lion's share of business done before the season gets underway and I'm quite sure that Slade will be no different. There is, to an extent, a 'domino effect' in terms of player movement but, at our level, the majority of deals towards the end of August tend to be loans and/or borne out of desperation.

  • Top stuff. If he's half as successful as the last bloke called Connor who signed on loan from Everton he'll be a sure fire hit.
Great. Charlton Ath....helping to give games to premier league teenagers who won't make it.
Guess the Belgians have decided they can't afford David Davis.

  • A winger apparently
  • Oh good we're signing Conor mcaleny again
  • #inkatywetrust
  • I'm sure Slade would have looked at Austria as the point where he had the majority of his squad before hand! It would be strange if he didn't!
  • Belgians can't afford to run an English Football Club, and their scheme is not working and we are off to the conference.
  • A winger would be a key part of my extensive list. All I can find is that he is left footed, did well for Doncaster on loan. Says he is left or right midfielder. Promising part of the jigsaw for Slade if we sign him.
  • Doncaster fan on Twitter said he was more central, played from DM to a number 10 role.

Given injuries, 2 fit CBs inc Tex expected to be sold. Only JJ as CM and he's been playing LM. Zero keepers. 2 strikers, one injured plus 18yo Lookie who may stay or be sold when he returns in a month's time. Four trialists, one vanished and two deemed ineffective by most who watched friendlies. Bare bones squad with 12 days to Bury. Rest will be academy fill-ins or panic aquisitions with no time to bed in. No cover at RB or either wing. Shambles!!!!

But they have learned the lessons!!!!!
  • Would be Grant be a loan or perm?

A busfare back to Norwich according to most reports.
  • Would be Grant be a loan or perm?

Would assume loan as article says he signed a new contract with Everton this week

Matt Ingram former Wycombe GK now third choice at Qpr being touted for season long loan with us.

Christ, we are now going for third choice QPR goalkeeper - Despise these Belgians
Made 124 appearances for Wycombe and he's only 23. Would actually be a decent signing

  • What the hell happened to Bob Scout or Roger Recruit or whatever his bloody name is who was hired as our experienced head of recruitment?

Is he on extended holiday in Poland or has Ms Nightmeire locked him the laundry room?

What was the point of hiring him if he was only allowed to do his job for about 72 hours? We could have put him on trial for a week and saved some more Euros

Absolute bloody shambles as usual. The 'new era' indeed.
  • So far we've got rid of
    Sarr
    Watt
    Vetokele
    Tucadean
    JBG
    Cousins
    Pope
    Probably Henderson

All amongst the highest earners at the club and we've only replaced them with 3 players.

Add in the likes of Fanni, Suk Young leaving after their loans we've got an even smaller squad than before. Whilst also carrying Diarra, Kashi, Solly, JJ and Bauer who have history of picking up injuries making them miss a chunk of the season.

2 weeks before the start of the season we are in a terrible state. The ownership of the club has again shown a total lack of ambition to actually want to succeed this season.

Should add Big Mak to the list of departures as I think Novak is probably a direct replacement for him whilst Holmes replaces JBG and Ajosi replaces Vetokele. You can add Ceballos to the injury prone list, Motta to the departures list and then there's the remaining no-hopers from last season Ba and Bergditch who I doubt will be around this season. Not looking very good at the moment!
  • Bergdich has already gone though

    Reece Burke linked in SLP.
West Ham centre back who won player of the year at Bradford last season.
And guess what......it would be a loan.

Sounds unlikely, from the article. There is evidently no money for permanent transfers
