I wouldn't take him here now. He appears to have gone off the rails & I'd steer well clear. There's no way we could afford him anyway, but to say that he's stealing a living as a professional footballer, having spent his entire career in the premier league, is ridiculous!
What happened to today's signing? Slade sounded pretty confident it was nearly done.
I think it could have been magennis, but Kilmarnock have seemed to turn the bid down and have now offered him a new contract!
I'm inclined to agree. When Russ left South London on Friday Katie probably told him it was a done deal and we'd offered Killie what they wanted, Russ probably only found out after his post match interview that they were not swayed by the offer of three extra beans or Rojo on loan.
It couldn't of been magennis because we didn't even know if a bid had been accepted so how could a deal been 2/3 done !!!!
Probably agreed wages with his agent, he wanted to come so just agreeing the fee was the 1/3rd to be done. Maybe the most important 1/3rd but I doubt that would get in the way of Katie telling Russ it was nearly done.
Agbonlahor in league 1 is just what we need. He wouldn't sign for us , but give me him over Jay Simpson, josh Magennis or any of the other AIDS we've been linked with any day of the week
Guy on Twitter claiming we've expressed an interest in gabby agbonlahor
Coventry seem to be in the lead in the race for him.
Those who think Roger Johnson is stealing a living should see Agbonlahor play
A guy with 322 premier league appearances & 3 England caps is stealing a living?? Righto
Last season - 15 games 1 goal 14/15 = 34 games 6 goals 13/14 = 30 games 4 goals
11 goals in 79 games in 3 years for an out and out striker.
Theft of a wage of the highest order
Agbonlahor last season was terrible, and his off field behaviour suggested that his attitude to the game wasn't right, especially for a long serving player (and captain?)

The planet where homegrown players should command ridiculous fees.
It's the reason Manure are so hell bent on buying Pogba for £90m, as though he is French he is a homegrown player, so will help them meet the quota for both the PL and CL.
Lookman is a decent young player, who hasn't had much professional training. I'd imagine a big club would want him as soon as possible, to get as much top coaching as possible, something we can't really offer at the moment.
But you have to play hard ball and tell these clubs £10m, and then the compromise will end up being 6-7m, not just accepting the first bid of 2m
Trying to remain calm & take the long view, 'its a marathon and not a sprint' an stuff. But its not working, i'm frustrated an depressed.
Have seen the Bromley, Leyton Orient and Ipswich games. No game plan, no energy, (excepting Holmes) NO MIDFIELD, no quality. Crofts & Foley so far look squad players at best.
Even my dog can see we have no midfield. So surely RS can. Come on Russel, persuade nightmire to invest say £300/500k on an attacking central midfielder.
"If Lookman goes even at £3 million it will be bad business. By the end of this season he will be worth £4 million at least."
But only if we are back in the Championship. Can't see anyone paying £4m for a League 1 player.
Leeds paid £3m for a League 2 player in Kemar Roofe. The money's there being spent regardless of the league, we just don't have the negotiating personnel to actually get it. I read an article today about Burnley that said how Dyche was over the moon at only paying £2.5m for Gudmundsson. The job Meire has done negotiating these transfers would get her thrown off a building at another club.

The top English clubs pay ridiculous fees for potential - selling Lookman for £2 million would be insane. £8-10 million should be the asking price.
