This is at least consistent with their stated intentions. Bring players on to sell them. Doesn't add up to also having promotion ambitions but what the hell ...
It would be great if the club had a coherent strategy and ambition, that our excellent young players actually felt that their ambitions could be met at Charlton, rather than being a shop window to get to a move to a better more ambitious club.

But they have, if the young players do well, they will be sold to another club, but the fans will have the benefit of seeing them in their early career

Of the 17 in the squad on Saturday, 6 were from the academy. That's over 35%.
How many do you think should be from the academy? And if our club is so rubbish at bringing players through, why has someone from West Ham, (according to them, "the home of football") just left them to sign for us?

When any of them show any promise, how many will stay at Charlton and for how long ? So this player signs from WHU and everything is rosy and we can admire Duchatelet's excellent, strategy.

Who would you rather we sold, THD or Lookman? Maybe THD has pushed the move through?
It would be great that the club has ambition that the young players want to stay and have their ambitions met. This is the transfer thread and probably best, speculating about whether Charlton are going to ever get a quick, combative or creative midfielder

No sign of Solly or Fox leaving, is there?
Solly would have been sold long ago if he was fit enough. I like Fox and think that he is a decent left back who has been exposed by poor players in the left midfield position but that is no excuse for offloading THD, who I think it potentially more promising and more attacking. You need both players. Also, How do you know that if a decent (or even less than decent) offer came in for Fox that he wouldn't be sold as well ?
Bit of a concern that Thompson is playing for Norwich. Thought he'd be the midfielder. Although I guess it keeps him match sharp, and he is their player

Bad move selling him but I cannot blame anybody leaving the club, good luck to the fella.
In fact, it must be a shed load as we are no longer in the business of selling on potential stars for crap money.
Must be the 3mil we need for Dack
I have seen Archie Edwards a few times and, in my view, has the potential to be the best left back at the club.

Admittedly, it was more of a refusal to listen than a rejection of an actual offer
