So we are trying for 2 more. Smacks of the old "we tried but couldn't quite get them over the line, be patient there is always January" line to me. Meanwhile Arsenal come in at 11.45 for Lookman and we manage to wrap that one up inside 15 mins.
The business end of the summer transfer window. The time for foreplay is over.
This thread has over one million views and, to be frank, it's been rather emotional. But right now, I'm going to need you to channel your inner Jack Bauer because we've got less than twenty four hours to bring it home. Dig deep and let's bring this puppy in.
Let's do ourselves justice. It's the last dance of the evening and nobody wants to go home alone.

Who's with me?
Is this your plea for us to finish strong by actually discussing transfer rumours? Because if so, I'll happily throw in the Towell.
The fact that we're still chasing Thompson and Walsh, two players we've been linked with for quite some time, kind of makes me want to pull my hair out. Yes, without the emergency loan system clubs are more likely to hold onto their players, at least until very late, but surely this was anticipated? We anticipated it on this thread.
I'm all for picking your players carefully and wisely, but it's to the point now where it feels like a complete lack of imagination of the part of scouting/recruitment and Slade. Given that we're looking at loan players, surely it'd be better to have 2-3 lined up in case something goes wrong or teams don't want to let the players go. Is Thompson so peerless that we must get him and only him?
The whole thing feels quite amateur to me, and if we're struggling to at least identify British players for the English third tier, then what is the point of bringing in an English manager and chief scout? Shouldn't they be showing off the breadth and depth of their knowledge?
Also, the fact that we're looking to finish off our threadbare squad with loans is infuriating given how many players (and how much in wages) have been offloaded this summer. That I cannot blame on those in charge of identifying players.
Great business dushatalot . 6 million in , 1 million out plus savings on wages of smaller squad . Only a couple of loans maybe tomorrow. You ain't got a clue.
He knows exactly what he's doing when it comes to cash. 5 bar up, another 4 from Lookman and, as you say, slashed costs. (Slades comments are getting ever more desperate re Lookman). Thin squad forces Slade to put more kids in the shop window.
With dodgy cross-border transfer pricing, differences in capital gains laws between Belgium and the UK, write offs and building development ideas, he's well on the way to getting his money back.

Did I just read Slade saying some clubs are being very protective of letting their plsyers go? Well there's a startling thought. Maybe we wouldn't be in the position of having to get difficult signings over the line in the next 15 hours if someone had done the protective thing with our squad. Truely pathetic.
Glad that Declan Rudd cant be recalled as John Ruddy appears to join Sunderland today... Might put a dent in our hopes if we want to sign him on a Free Transfer next summer

Dr Kish disagrees with Red Henry about Fox.
Thompson might still come.
Just as we keen/desperate to recruit a couple so will other clubs be eager to get fringe players out the door for experience or to save money.
Imagine we'll be offered a lot of players today, some we don't want, some we can't afford and maybe some who are just right.
It's all just speculation until it's on the OS.
Enjoy.
You can never have too many centre halves.
Had a better game than Johnson
Wonder if he was just taking in a game/scouting/watching a relative?
