The League One financial rules for newly relegated clubs are that player wages can't exceed 75% of turnover. Turnover includes any money put in by the owner as long as it isn't in the form of loans.
Therefore, if an owner wants to buy promotion by keeping or signing high earning players he can do so whereas he couldn't under FFP rules in The Championship.

So equity and fake sponsorship are OK but loans aren't?
Let's hope tomorrow's the day Ajose actually becomes a Charlton player and then we start getting linked with some good midfielders and defenders hopefully dean cox is the next one through the door ????
One slight problem no one left yet ? so we still have a big squad
Only a matter of time though. Certainly will lose JBG and Cousins or Kashi - if not both. Tucadean, Henderson will go. Tiexiera and Watt probably will. And who knows what will happen with Lookman? It's going to be another big turn over if players.....AGAIN.
I reckon all those named either want to go or the Belgians want to offload them.
Six debuts for the Bury game.
Will stoke the protest up nicely for the Northampton game if Bury turn us over.
Just financial thats why a lot of the big earners have to leave under new rules in league one even if we wanted to we can't keep them
Oh yeah, the players are really wanting to play in division 3.....
Lookman said being kicked all over the place at Oldham will do wonders for his development.
Plenty of good young players have coped with L1 football. Defoe tore it up for Bournemouth, while Lallana played there for Southampton, and Hoolahan for Norwich, and none of them are big, physical players

Thought is was a sign of the young man's commitment and desire to do well that he took this on off his own back.
Shame that people complain that players aren't committed or don't want it enough but when they show they are they just get more stick.
I sort of agree but Morgan is after all a professional sportsman and athlete. He and any in his "job" shouldn't need poking with a sharp stick to improve or maintain their levels of fitness.

Pre-season begins today. Nicky Ajose signing should be completed in the next 24 hours.

@RichCawleySLP
Unless any late developments to Nicky Ajose situation, #cafc expected to complete deal today.
Notice also that both Cousins and Fox have been on pre-preseason training fitness courses. Fox twitted a pic of himself moving a huge tyre.
Or was that his reaction on being told to report to Sparrows Lane for pre-season training?
That picture is of Morgan Fox placing a tyre in the Left-Back position so there is an extra obstacle for attackers to deal with next season

Lovely to catch up with the gaffer this morning #cafc #positive
(I dont have a clue just trying to create some suspense)
Not popping at Fox. That goes for all of them.
