So if we lose our next match we might end up in our worst league position ever?

    Possibly

There were only 22 teams in that 1926 league so we've never FINISHED lower than 21st in the 3rd tier since we joined the league.

Indeed. We were never 66th I think. QPR finished a mighty 14 points lower than Charlton in 22nd place.

Agree with AFKA it's a PR stunt nothing more. We should turn her use of this PR mob against her ------ how much is it costing ---- why would a team in the 3rd level need a PR firm etc etc
It's just another example of how out of her depth she is

Thanks for the offer but now it is time for you to go.

    Fantastic...says it all...print it up.
  • I bet Katrien doesn't turn up to the Coventry game.

Squirrel face will, she's an attention seeker.
AND she won't turn down the opportunity to meet Henry with his Bromley Addicks' gang before the match.....

Nope, she likes an argument as well.
  • Just wondering what form this meeting takes @Henry Irving ? I assume it's literally before the match?

Stunning letter, we have some hugely talented people at CARD who will be hero's when these morons piss off.

Surprised KM hasn't tried to hire CARD to do her PR.

What would we have lost by agreeing to meet?
I doubt everyone would leave the meeting as besties and KM would still be on tinder; but this all started as a demand for the owners to spell it out in black and white.
This could have been that opportunity.

That ship sailed a long time ago, it is not a new opportunity but a PR exercise, we would have lost an awful lot by agreeing to meet.

The PR people did a reasonable job here and laid a trap.

They screwed up leaking the email to the press before any response could have feasibly been given, either acceptance, or refusal.

The trap has been sidestepped but the divisive tactic will persist.

The more you see of them, the more you dislike them.

Probably already been mentioned but you missed a trick CARD. You should have agreed to a meeting (maybe in Starbucks), set a date and then cancelled the day before because 'something has come up'. CARD IS NOT FOR SALE.

Maybe that's what the meeting was going to be about!

A bit stunned at how CARD have thoroughly dismissed the - seeming - work of a well respected PR agency. That wouldn't be good for business were it more well known... It may even be enough for some places to politely refuse future work.

For what it's worth, and I'm sure this thread will be monitored, I was going to continue my boycott of The Valley vs Coventry. However, due to the underhand manner of this "leak", I will reluctantly purchase a ticket for Coventry tomorrow.

When even the attempts at looking sincere and open-to-engagement rely upon sleight of hand - well timed emails curiously finding their way on the desks of journalists - you can't help but wonder if the tide is turning and we're approaching victory.

This meeting that was requested.... how are we to know that Ms Meire doesn't just want to buy a banner on Charlton Life or in the CARD Newsletter???

  • Can't imagine the club did this without RD's knowledge/assent - may even have been done on his instructions.

Clearly generated by the forthcoming resumption of protests - this time on all four sides of the stadium.

This maybe a result of RD's venture to the Valley a couple of weeks ago. He is losing money at a great rate of knots and he may well have said to the SMT 'enough is enough, get it fixed'. It looks like they have employed a PR Agency who don't seem to have done sufficient research before firing off a letter to CARD. They may well say they tried for peace talks but then releasing it to the press immediately shoots them in the foot. RD continues to lose money and won't be a happy chappie.

The most un PR thing in the world.

When everyone knows....as it's been revealed you are heavily relying on an expensive PR firm to do your work for you, because you are very much incapable.

    Soon as that's exposed.

    It's good night.

This should be the response from all supporter groups, they don't want to take anything on board that anyone actually says so why bother with a dialogue. Anyway why does Kat want to meet with just 2% of the support base?

I was imagining one of the hired PR team reading that statement, learning about what's been happening and thinking 'Jesus Christ - what have we got ourselves into?'

In fact (and worse in my view)..the Woolwich meeting was called because the club refused to talk after a polite and genuine request for a discussion about the concerns of the Trust regarding the growing and increasingly public disaffection of fans.

I wonder how long it will be before cameras fixed on the Directors' Box find a distraught Katy blubbing into Sue's proffered hanky at the nasty chants aimed in her direction ?

Gwyneth Paltrow- eat your heart out !

They will need to 'consciously uncouple' one day
They are rehearsing in the laundry van already:

If Roland had indeed learnt from his mistakes, he would have removed KM from her post.

The list of her failures and incompetence is so long it really is quite amazing she is still here. It is quite unbelievable that he does not see that things will never move forward while she is still here. Only a slim chance of it working for him if he sacked her now, and it would have to be a stunning choice of candidate to replace her.

However, I think others are right, if she were to leave he would even less than 1.5% intrest in us.

The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays is coming to its close.

In its place we are entering a period of consequences.
  • I may have had more sympathy with the club had they not released a statement to the press about the invite hours after sending it and without a response from CARD. That one act shows this was a pure PR exercise on their front and has been treated with the contempt it deserved to be.

    Great statement from CARD.

    Bog off Roland.

Am a bit late in saying it, but that was a truly brilliant response from CARD. Well done to whoever wrote it. Hope the Belgian press will pick up on it, that would really show them up!
