I've only just remembered about our game. That's how much Charlton means to me now. Couldn't give a shit either way. In 2 years I've lost total interest and my kids are growing up to be Southend supporters looking forward to a new stadium.
Genuinely feel sorry for those that care enough to carry on watching and supporting this pile of pants.
Season ticket holder for 25 years and now forget about our games. Well done Rd and KM
"I take full responsibility for that today, I got it wrong with my team selection"
So many bloody options and he chose wrong. Surely Lennon in goal and Rudd in midfield was so bloody obvious.
He had options today. Why not give Aribo a chance? Do you think that was a good starting line up then? Umerah could have started out wide. He could have gone 4-3-3. He could have gone with 3 CB's. But no, he chose 3 midfielder with no pace whatsoever.

And he's started those same 3 together in midfield a number of times already this season. We know, the players know, even Slade knows ....... it doesn't work.
Some good comedy moments in the stand second half. If I were manager I'd spend a good amount of time emphasising to the players that they wasted the time of the 500 fans there, but, as someone mentioned earlier, are they behind him????
Doesn't appear so. Everything about that performance today suggested the players want him gone. When Solly gives up there's not much hope for the rest.
Just watched the goals back on Channel 5: seeing Solly basically strolling back for their third goal is a really worrying sign and, although that was just one part of the poor overall performance it does suggest things aren't right. Although a better phrase may be even less right than we think.....
Another thing that came out of today is that the PR company seemed to use today to portray the fans as the villains in all of this with Sky swallowing all the old rubbish they were fed. Not sure that's the wisest strategy really-even the few supporters that are still bothering to watch the team (me included) have their breaking point and for us to be portrayed as the bad guys by stupid sections of the media as well being subjected to performances like today is bringing that point closer and closer. Do they really want 3000 hardy souls at the Valley next season watching League Two football?
I wonder how different this game could have been if we didn't concede that very unforuntate own goal.
We'd been very poor up till then so little reason to suggest anything different. In the "good old days" I would sometimes hope that conceding would give us the kick up the ass to respond. Those days are long gone....
My first game in two years after boycotting the club so I was part of the 504 Charlton fans there- I find it sad and baffling how detached I now feel from a club I once would have died for. I cannot think of a single positive to emerge from that performance
Watched it on TV. Terrible, terrible football from us. We really didn't have a clue how to break down Swindon. I don't get to watch many games but Bauer was 'orrible

What's your agenda, Slade?
Yet he continues to do it. - that's my agenda with Slade. He's negative, he doesn't take any risks, his brand of football is shit. Even when we win it's painful to watch.
It's so depressing that so many of us feel the same, we seem to have genuinely lost our connection, slicing huge percentages off the fan base. Sod the lost generation of selhurst this is far worse if you ask me.
Slade isn't Charlton, none of them are.
More rubbish to follow no doubt, Division 4 beckons, and the demolition of the valley.

You mean like play him on the left side of a diamond because he's a left footer and from what I understand he sometimes plays there for the U23s? Nah mate. RIDICULOUS. I know it's a game of opinions but yours is just wrong!

I think as ever we call for certain players to be given a chance, and they are all crap. The 11 on the pitch should beat Swindon and they were crap. I'm not a huge Slade fan, but I still blame the team on the pitch. Everyone calling for Hanlan, so on comes Hanlan and he's worse than the other 11. We can only survive with a fit and available squad, and I understand it wasn't the managers fault that he lost his only 4 game changers and was left with cart horses.
I really am not a fan of Ba, but he is a ten times better option than Foley. Looking at yesterday's team and subs, I believe one feature was that it was structured so that there would be no chance that Tex would be played.
Slade started with three players out of position to accomodate his turgid midfield and when he made his subs, you guessed it, they were out of position.
If Pinocchio thinks she can attract the missing fans back at some stage in the future, with her manager serving up such an inept performance as this, then she really is off her trolley. That performance was a perfect justification for all those not attending the Valley in protest to stay away, it was a performance that will lead to a few hundred more considering staying away and you would have to be a fruitcake if you are a new supporter likely to be tempted into watching Charlton regularly after seeing that. The regime couldn't have had a worse advert than that live on TV. But then again, is the two hours of football every week that important to them, it seems not. We are all being mugged off. Charlton Alexandra.
I don't know what you're all complaining about. This was an away match, so the Match Day Experience was out of our hands. Had we lost three nil at home to Swindon it would all have been fine. The warm glow afforded by flag waving kids, crossbar challenges and the memory of the fan sofa would have glossed over any perceived inadequecies on the pitch, no problem.
I wonder if we would have done any better if we had played a quick winger, I don't know, someone like that lad at Reading, Hariott; and a quick full back, maybe like the young lad at Huddersfield, THD against Swindon.
Maybe could have a few more points this season, resulting in slightly larger attendances, closer to the additional revenue from the Championship...
but the, what £3-500K joint fee for the two was really a must to recoup for our billionaire owner who spends less than 1.5% of his wealth on us.

he bought 3 of the CM 4 to the club in the summer, even standing his ground and arguing hard over two of those cart horses in Foley and Crofts. He bought in Pearce who was apparently at fault for the second goal. He has chosen to leave Tex on the bench. He chose to sell THD leaving himself very little LB cover. He chose to sell Harriott, leaving himself very little cover on the wings. He bought Ajose and Novak to the club. This is his team in every way. Sure, he is unlucky with missing players today but that is why, as a manager, you build a squad not just an 11. Not like we were playing one of the better teams in the division.
My first look at the team yesterday. Made me glad I'm boycotting! What struck me most was the total absence of any kind of spirit or passion. They all looked like they were just going through the motions, like an RMT member sweeping the station platform.
Probably been mentioned before, Swindon part owner/director Lee Powers. (We had him on loan. Played in the first game back at the Valley. He gets Tim Sherwood! Katrien Meire gets Slade, says it all. Can't you take over Charlton Lee?
that 'match' was on national TV yesterday .. what a terrible advert for the club .. I can imagine neutral watchers thinking 'why should we care about the future of the club when it seems that the players don't give a toss ?'
Sherwood may seem a coup for a League One club, but he really is a very deluded man. Charlton without our three best players was the perfect first game for him. I will be very, very surprised if he's much of a success

More people were probably watching ITV8+1 than watching the match!
I gave up watching that shower at half time and followed the match thread. That first half was without doubt the worst I have seen this season. Also highlighted the quality this league contains because we we were piss weak against a slightly better Swindon team. If Magennis, Holmes or Lookman get injured for any period during the season then we will struggle. And that midfield? Jesus wept. I have seen more agility in a retirement home.

What next, gonna suggest that RCC, who was apparently being watched by Arsenal and Liverpool toward the end of last season, should have been on the right side of the diamond to provide a good touch and a fantastic engine? Just nonsense.
As it turned out, our only creative player (Ulvestad) played so deep, the forwards had nothing to work with.
A diamond can't really work with full-backs who have only got about three runs per game between them.
The decision has clearly been made about Ba but I'd have him in to try and give us some mobility.

From the last performance to this one shows the team isn't organised at all.
