The danger is that we will be cutting off our nose to spite our face. A few clangers from Amos and he either has to bring in a keeper who hasn't played a league game for us or go back with a begging bowl to Dillon - who might then tell him where to stuff it. At which point the world and his mother accuses Dillon of not being loyal.
A contract is a contract. End of. A player is under contract to play football which is why Solly and Taylor were so wrong. But, equally, Dillon should be, at the very least, on the bench and the automatic replacement for Amos as and when he is needed.

Yeah, you've got to wonder what his agent has whispered in his ear. It does seem that many agents are motivated by the prospect of big commissions.
Of course, Dills would like to carry on playing in the Championship, but so would many of our squad ........ and that's not where he's at right now, is it?
Anyway, the Championship is stuffed full of very decent keepers (we had 2 ourselves last season with Dills and Amos), so his chances of being signed as 1st choice for a Champs side is a bit wishful thinking, especially now squads are more or less complete- unless a club has an injury situation.
And Dills has said himself he wants 1st team football and not to sit on the bench. But even that's got to be better than to be shut out in the cold, which is where he is right now.
Shame it's not worked out for him, but a better idea might have been to say nothing, commit to carrying on where he left off, knowing privately he's in the shop window.
That's what happened with Rob Elliot in our title winning promotion team - and he soon got his dream move.

Yes, but that is Bowyer's decision and while I'd rather Dillon stayed and played that is one of many difficult calls any manager has to make.
Philips isn't refusing to play but as usual whenever a player leaves or won't sign a contract history gets rewritten (not saying by you) to paint that player as either useless, greedy or big headed.
The reality is that it's a short career.
Tareiq Holmes-Dennis, who played alongside Philips in the Charlton youth and U23 sides, has just announced that he has been forced to retire aged 24.
Nice to be able to hear everybody's view in the situation. Am sure many of our fan base know Dills personally.
It's short career that ironically is going to be made a year shorter, without him being part of a match day squad for a potential season, by the looks of it.
