Having worked for a rich eccentric like RD and also 'helping him' to sell his company I can tell you that business logic does not always apply to these people. They have too much money to 'need' the sale and live in a bubble that their wealth has created. Not fools by any means, but they don't often make rational decisions as I know first hand.
I suspect that due diligence has thrown up 'something' that means the buyer is not prepared to pay the initially indicated figure or under the initial terms, could be 101 things from asset values (players, training ground, valley etc) to the terms of any lease back, staff they don't want, could literally be anything and probably not just one thing. It's highly likely IMHO for RD to simply baulk at their challenge/negotiations. That's what they do.
Ball park figures he must be in for £50m yet the true value is probably sub £25m (assuming debt written off). None of us with the little we know about him expects he'll suddenly see sense and let it go for 20/25m and write off the debt (that was predominantly due to his poor management), I suspect he wants 30m and to hold onto the Valley as security for the remaining debt. I've always believed he'll only sell if ultimately he gets his money back, even if part of that deal is future payments on promotions and the Valley as security. (not forgetting there are others already owed money in that instance).
Even if I was sitting on 500m I don't think I'd be paying a penny more than 25m even if he wrote off the debt.

There is a lot of evidence that the sales process was very advanced, with issues having emerged through due diligence being actively addressed and resolved.
More than one source are saying the talks/negotiations have now stalled, although no-one is yet saying that it has completely fallen through. No-one has (as far as anyone knows) walked away. Yet. No-one knows (as far as I know) what the sticking points are.
I definitely think we need to protest, but I agree with Large that the Pompey match wouldn't be right. It could drive a wedge between the protesters and those that prefer to keep their football politics free (that said, there is a certain irony in that that returning to The Valley was the most political thing we ever did).
I would attend a match at The Valley if there was a protest, I won't if there isn't. I'd also be up for an embassy protest or another sojourn to St Truiden.
A protest wont be well supported whilst the team are doing well i think its ill advised and not the answer
in my opinion the posts were misleading nothing was imminent the AFC deal had already walked away by then , the newer interest was there but it was very early in its stages and didn't need to be reported as something to build hopes up on as IMO this was a more likely outcome than a buy out, Due to RD being so rich he holds all the cards now lets see if its a game of bluff

Why does he need to wait until the summer? Could agree a deal in which he gets more money if we're promoted.

Then when that had been disagreed with from a number of sources you back tracked and now that a few others have said it may have hit a problem you're trying to claim credit that you said it all along.
