  • 1839, Sussex County Cricket Club are formed. They are the oldest English county club.
Did they play amongst themselves for a few years?
The longest unbeaten run in English sporting history - after Huddersfield of course.

Moderately interesting that the club has failed to meet its latest moving deadline for releasing season ticket seats and increasing prices.
But there’s no one around to announce it, is there?

Is that the NHS call centre?

No, it's where they answer calls to 101

I suspect any price increases would need to be signed off by LDT. They have had plenty of time to consider them so I don’t see if you take out the takeover issue what substantive reason there is for further delay. Oddly, there was no attempt last week to use the deadline to drive further sales.

Of course it could just be inertia internally, but it’s also possible LDT has taken a view that IF things progress it should then be left to new owners to decide. It’s not that significant in terms of revenue.

  • Do we have any idea what these newly identified debts are? It hard to believe it’s something left over from the spivs.

Have Roly not been paying VAT and trade creditors, hoping he can get out before it goes to court?
  • 1840, The world's first postage stamp the penny black is introduced.

Don’t assume it’s debts, it may just be unknowns.

Wouldn't be surprised it Duchatelet is still trying to hold on to future payments for Lookman or Gomez.

If we hadn’t been paying our taxes, HMRC would have issued a winding up order by now

There is plenty of winding up on CL
  • Does anyone else get the feeling that, if something was imminent (in the next week sense of the word), something solid would've been leaked by now?

It just don't feel like anything is going on,  sorry
  • Agree, you would of thought Richard Cawley or the National’s would be getting some sniff of the Takeover, absolute silence.

Hearing stuff and having enough to put it out are two different things.

    As we found out.
Fair comment and consequently both Rich and I are more cautious than we were.
  • Could all be a Red Herring!

    Solids generally dont leak......liquids do.
  • 1840, The world's first postage stamp the penny black is introduced.
Just another 126 pages to go to England win the World Cup
  • I'm beginning to feel like one of those condemned people on Death Row; you know it's 'imminent' but the final day keeps getting further and further away.
