As much as I'm delighted it's the end of the Roland era I am slightly concerned about the Kewell rumour.
As I said on another thread, if Paul Elliott is indeed the next Chairman, then I assume he has been involved in the decision to appoint Kewell and that is good enough for me.
When we have new owners we really have to stop the negativity and go with the flow.
Well, it’s been a while, but I think I’m going to be heading down the Valley on Saturday. Based on what people on here are saying now I am taking the leap of faith that the reign of RD might finally be coming to a conclusion in the next week. Here’s to that moment when we hear that news confirmed.
Belgium20 @TheBelgium20 Seems a poster on CL was getting the same info as us. We were told it came through channels from Paul Elliot. It was a Middle East consortium worth over $3b in weath. They wanted a clean sweep. RM didn’t want them and preferred the less wealthy Aussie. Chineese whispers? Or BS?
Is that true?
Yes it is
But it’s not Murrays sale to block either way
His position within the new set up has been the problem only the aussies prepared to accept it
Please tell me you're joking & I'm going to get whooshed ?

Trust me it's not being negative for the sake of it. I have given every manager a chance and I would do the same if Kewell was appointed but it just all feels a bit Roland network for my liking.
Been said many times, they, whomever they are, don’t need to be mega rich, stable, properly run and managed will do for me, after the last 5-6 years of pain and amateurish goons at the helm.
Agreed - we were all pretty chuffed to hear about the size of Roland' s bank account when he took over, and look where that got us

I can assure you that we weren't
I seem to recall some Liege fans told us on here very early doors, to be very wary of Duchetelet's modus operandi and it soon came to pass that they were spot on.

How can he have a say? It’s not his Club to sell and they don’t even have to pay off his loan if they don’t want to. I really don’t see how he can have any say.

I understand where you are coming from; but we must just go for it IMO or we will not move forward. Forget Roland.

Yes you said it loads of times, and without offering a shred of evidence.
I mean the owner is Roland Duchatelet, FFS. When did anybody successfully block anything he wanted to do? The last one who tried was Mel Baroni
Can any thread in any forum match that? AFKA should be proud! Might be worth contacting the Guinness book of records. Tell you what, I'll produce a special mug for the 2 millionth.
I have been right on this subject from the very beginning and I am right now
Up to you to believe it or not I couldn’t give two shit chalets If you do or don’t
RM has been pivotal in this whole charade and been the blocker
The saying when you know you know
Take it from me I ain’t about to divulge eveidence I don’t need too as it is now irrelevant
Wouldn’t be the first time RM has influenced any takeover or investment or even the structure of the set up due to his own ego not wanting to give way to better beginnings
Don't get the objection to Kewell if true. Doing well at Crawley, good reputation when he was a coach at Watford and getting the best out of KAG - something the last two managers were hopeless at.
Its not an objection, but there good managers at other clubs we'd have to pay compo for too. Why not have a proper process?
Aussies picking and Aussie seems a bit too RD for me. Unless he knows people on the consortium, however his comments today suggest otherwise.
agreed. Kewell's doing ok but does seem he's possibly being appointed because he's Australian
It's understandable with the language barrier they'd want one of their own.

Yes they did & they were right of course but it was already in the news that after a pretty successful season Leige (doucebag) had sold off all the top players / earners & replaced them for a fraction of the fees received. The writing was on the wall, weeks later Yann was sold. Incredibly fucking stupid transfer by incredibly fucking stupid belgians.

(this took way to long)
Life is good, we are moving forward.

Sometimes he slips in an 'imo'. Sometimes he doesn't.
Guesswork?
