    Won't be any worse when Stokes comes back eventually. Won't be for Ali though - probably Hales with Root moving up to 3 and Morgan to 4.
    Stokes brings the balance so we have 6 bowlers, 4 seamers and 2 spinners. Needed that balance today with Plunkett going off the field injured. But Woakes 7, Rashid 8 and Plunkett 9 is decent enough. Would love a quality spinner to emerge to take Ali's place but states the obvious I guess as with test team. Ali does the job for the time being as our strength is with the batting.

    What a catch by Buttler. If you look at the wrist of Butlers glove it gets pulled down when the ball lands so that suggests th glove is under the ball.

    Agreed - but, as I've said on here for years and been lampooned when people were screaming for him to be recalled, KP was and is past his best and has always been a mercenary of the very worst order. He would sell his grandmother to play for Australia right now if he could.

    Nailed on the head. Pietersen is a grade A **** summed up during an Aussie T20 tournament when he said he would love to bat against England after being outcast from the England team. A Saffa friend of mine always had a dislike for him and it wasn’t until late that I could see why.

    Root was a bit expensive but Wood and Rashid have been outstanding. Helped not only by the way that Smith got out but his selfish batting. A bit like Trott when he played for us at 3, who got runs but put pressure on others around him to score quickly. Not surprising though as Smith is a total knob and up his own arse.
