The irony that the shunned investors that Varney tried to introduce, actually represented Roland's best ever chance of getting his money back, especially given that it was over two years ago and we were a Championship club. But the stubborn old git cut off his nose to spite his face.
We Yanks struggle with all your extra u's in words. Even the meme generator kept changing it back when I fixed it. Next time I will labor to humor you will more correct spelling.
Please learn the below for future reference,
American English is like the thick kid in the class who can't spell properly so sound spells the words.
Never mind all this American nonsense, when are we getting our new center forward?
I don't see any difference between the two forms except the spelling. Center is commonly regarded as an American spelling, whereas in Britain, people tend to spell it as centre. This is similar to some words like meter and metre, color and colour, etc. The spelling centre is standard in UK English.21 Oct 2013
A quick check of companies house confirms Varneys resignation from the Ebsfleet board. He does however remain a member of the KEH sports holding board.
I also found this from a little while back:
Ebbsfleet United have announced that executive vice chairman Peter Varney has agreed to extend his contract at Stonebridge Road until 2020.
The deal until the summer of 2020 also applies to his role as chief executive of Kuwaiti European Holdings Sports Limited (KEH Sports).
Just wonder what his new project will be if he is indeed staying with KEH for at least the next two years?
This was their remit when he was appointed:
Former Charlton Athletic Chief Executive and Executive Vice Chairman Peter Varney has been appointed as the new CEO of KEH Sports Ltd.
It is a newly-formed subsidiary of Kuwaiti European Holdings and Varney's role will be to oversee the group's planned and future investment in UK football.
Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi, chairman of the KEH group, said: "We are delighted to have secured the services of Peter Varney to this key new role in UK operations.
"He has a wealth of experience in the football sector and I very much look forward to working with him on our proposed range of current and future football-related projects."
He and his wife are the only shareholders. Business is classified as OTHER PROFESSIONAL, SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES N.E.C.
Nothing to see here basically!
Yeah literally what loads of self employed people do, set themselves up as a limited company and have their spouse as a director to get a bit more off in tax.
The shame of all this of course is that if the £100m investment into CAFC were true and was still available, surely they could be in charge of the whole club by the weekend - these people never seem to be around when the club is actually up for sale.

Investment opportunities come and go. It's likely that those investors grew tired of waiting and invested their money elsewhere.
Besides, there are investors around right now, and they are looking into buying the club so how can you say people never seem to be around when the club is up for sale?
Peter Varney puts the record straight on departure rumours Ebbsfleet United’s outgoing vice chairman Peter Varney has refuted inaccurate assumptions surrounding the nature of his forthcoming departure from the club.
Writing in tomorrow’s issue of matchday programme FleetReview, Varney informs Fleet supporters of the following:
“Please ignore the nonsense you may have read on social media in the last week. Allow me to put the record straight on a few mischievous comments that have been made:
I have not been sacked. It is my sole decision to leave at this time which I believe is the right time for all concerned. I have fully recovered from my prostate cancer operation last September which kept me at home for three weeks and I have the all-clear thanks to the skill of the brilliant surgical team at Guys Hospital. I am not representing or involved with any buyer looking to acquire Charlton Athletic FC. A couple of years ago I was asked to broker a meeting with an overseas investor I had met on several occasions who was looking to invest up to £100m into the club but the owner declined to take up an offer to meet me and the investor either in Belgium or London, accusing me of being a billboard salesman and a middleman (for the record I never sought a penny from him for the introduction) – which was insulting from someone I had never met. I am not retiring due to old age! I would like to carrying on working as long as I can.” Varney goes on to assure Fleet fans that he will continue to take a keen interest in the club and watch from the Main Stand each week (“as a paying supporter, of course!”).
Wonder if the pratt arrived at that conclusion himself or whether that opinion was encouraged by one of his shrewd advisors in his efficacious management team.

It’s pretty clear it isn’t still available. Plus if you were willing to pay top dollar for something, wouldn’t you be a bit pissed off by the fact the person you want to buy from wouldn’t even take a meeting from you?

And not in billboard advertising... What a dipstick RD!

£100 million to invest I think the quote was. Doesn’t mean they will pay £55m up front. Quite a simple world you live in is it?

Not really - the club wasn't for sale then and the owner didn't need any money

So the string of emails where peter varney was strung along and then meetings cancelled last minute is the way to conduct business then?

Now Executive Director at Peter Varney Associates Ltd
Not going to get my hopes up, though!
