the only way Taylor won’t get sold is if someone unplugs the tax machine

Roland sold the fax machine at a boot sale in Brussels last week.

    15 minutes before extra time

Similar to what I said earlier.
Rather than spend 4 million on toney why not offer Taylor a better deal. 4 million over 52 weeks ie a year is 76,000 let's say we tie him down on a 2 year deal at 20k that's still cheaper and if worse comes to worse let's the old tape cretin to cash in some.

Right now I would take us not signing anyone else if it meant keeping Lyle.

Though ideal world we would keep him and sign a couple others.

We really can't offer our best striker in years 15k a week in the Championship? Fucking hell
    Because we can't afford it.
    *Roland won't pay it

The 4 million is coming from the Taylor sale though. No sale and therefore no money for his contract.

Lyle may be happy to bide his time - if he does well in the first half of the season, he’ll be in an excellent position by the January window and an even better one next summer. Against that, there’s always the risk of a bad injury.

Let’s hope he stays and signs an improved contract - not that it will stop Duchatelet cashing in at some point if an attractive bid is made.

On way to the Great British Beer Festival to either (1) celebrate a decent window (notwithstanding the pain of Dijksteel’s departure) or (2) drown my sorrows if we lose our talisman. Whatever happens, I’ll definitely be burning off a bit of nervous energy after a taxing week ...

His injury record would make him a good fit.

I'd take the two Brighton lads over Taylor. Would prefer all three obviously, but if it's a choice...

If Taylor has a good first couple of months, we will say goodbye to him in the summer on a free.

    This.

Offer him 12k and settle at that for signings.

A fella's entitled to a bit of executive relief on stressful days like this
  • Doesn’t Richard Crawley usually tweet that our business is done at about this time ?

Need to get another striker in. If it's only one player it should be a striker. If we get a striker and a midfielder we can just about call it a good window (as long as everyone isn't shit)
