True if you are choosing a jumper, you’ll just go on the colour you like if they are all the same style. But with younger fans especially my guess is they want something instantly recognisable as the Charlton shirt the players wear, not the one that looks best but only gets worn in a minority of away games they mostly won’t attend. That’s the point of replica shirts. I’m sure the black shirt will sell well; I just don’t think it will outsell the first choice red shirt, and I’m willing to bet the order for it reflects that.
As long as its red and has the Charlton badge on I couldn't really care less what it looks like. Never really understood grown adults moaning on social media about a football kit (not talking about here as I've hardly read the comments) but when you get fans moaning about the socks or shorts 🤣 who gives a shit.

the logo just doesn’t go on the home kit (I know the blue in the logo is important to the sponsor so fair enough) but I am going purely on aesthetics.
The black kit had an overwhelmingly positive reaction on here.
