Bonne could be a Chris Dickson. Or he could be an Ian Wright (scored 19 goals in his first 80 games when Palace were in the 2nd tier).
Time will tell but Steve Coppell who brought Wright in from non league has always emphasised how raw he was and how long it took to get rid of bad habits.
Bonne's certainly learning fast. Faster than Wright did in fact.
Intelligent play for his goal - could've dived in trying to get there first, instead allowed the goalie to make himself look stupid and then calmly controlled the ball into the open space. Read what was going to happen perfectly. Passing wasn't always as sharp as it could've been but he's showing he has both the brains and the brawn to contribute at this level.
Sport is all about taking the opportunity you are given. Taylor injury and Hemed not firing led to Bonne being given his chance. Aside from giving him a rest he doesn’t deserve to come out of the side. Looking like very smart business bringing him to the club.
Another brilliant performance from Bonne a decent finish , I’ll admit I didn’t fancy him to score from that angle , he’s serving me humble pie every week ! he’s improving every game , still raw but his heart is making up for it and he tracked back late on as well .
Seems like I’m in a bit of a minority but I really like him, fits the mould of being a very good striker with his build and given game time think he’ll be very useful.
So pleased for the lad,he's taken his chance and grabbed it with both hands. Bow has said all along Bonne can finish and he sure can and also has that great strikers knack of being in the right place at the right time. £200k looks a snip at this point in time.
