In the first half I thought you did a good job of man-marking Pereira, who has been our fulcrum, and keeping him quiet. You looked good on the attack, I thought your no.11 was really sharp. At half time I felt you had had the best of the game, and I think that you were probably the best team that I've seen at the Hawthorns this season.....Then the sending off! No complaints - insane and unnecessary challenge - and in the pell-mell that followed I was worried we had had a second man red carded. Was relieved that the ref had just made an error...
My overall impression of Charlton was that you looked a lot better than your league position suggests. I was very unimpressed with QPR and Leeds (even though Leeds nicked it from us) and thought you looked better than both of those teams. Good luck for the rest of the season!
VAR would have disallowed their second and despite it being a soft penalty, we have seen from experience that the penalty would have been referee's call. VAR would have won us the game.

Though technically the penalty incident wouldn't have occurred had their second been disallowed.

Technically? What technicalities do you think would have stopped us continuing to play to score?

It could very well have still happened.
That specific penalty incident wouldn't have happened as it would've been a different sequence of events. So can't really say VAR would've won us the game.
We seem to do well against the good teams as we and they attack which gives us room to play our game, my concern is against the poorer teams that are more defensive and give us no room
