Yep quite different. Just saying that it seems Maddison was/is our 1st choice signing and heard from 3 good sources today that is who we are afterScoham said:
Different types of player aren’t they? Isn’t Mowatt a CM and Maddison a winger?orpingtonRED said:

Facts are facts. They just don’t make fans happy. Remember when some were showing how xG said we were overperforming and actually a lower table club likely to revert to the mean? And everyone was like “See! Stats mean nothing.” Well....RedRyan said:

Interesting article about January buys, though it does have a little of the Tommy D about it...7 -
Will be interesting to see where we play him if he does sign.orpingtonRED said:

Maddison more Jonny Williams, Mowatt more Cullen.Scoham said:

For me the buggets gap in the squad (after striker) is back up for Cullen. Would very much like both!3 -
I'm an analyst by trade so know the benefits of data. But as I've explained to you before the context and being able to effectively explain 'the story' is what's more important.NapaAddick said:

If we had kept largely the same players and had reverted to mid table you might have a point. But with 14 injuries at any one time for 3 months and playing kids from non-league rather suggests they have a different mean than the squad that started the season.
What you have inferred above is wrong. We cannot say we wouldn't have reverted to a lower league position anyway but we cant claim have because of outperforming XG early season either.10 -
You dont think he would walk into our 1st team?Scoham said:

Not if we've a fully fit midfield of Cullen | Pratley | Gallagher | WilliamsorpingtonRED said:

If Maddison was that good he'd have been snapped up by a Championship team long before now
Not saying that he's rubbish but dont think he'd walk into a starting berth here1 -

If We've a fully fit midfield as you say. Our midfield is L1 standard at the moment, yes players are coming back slowly from injury but no doubt we will get more injuries and suspensions. Id have Maddison ahead of Dempsey,Morgan or Vennings0 -
We don't own half that midfield though.ForeverAddickted said:

Oh without doubt I'd have Maddison starting ahead of those three you mention (even Doughty at Wing-Back as he can apparently play there too)
I'm talking about the fact he wouldnt walk into our fully fit team
The best thing about these signings would be the fact that Bowyer will have less pressure to re-integrate those who have been injured1 -
He's a winger and we don't often play with wingers.orpingtonRED said:

I imagine we'd use him at the tip of the diamond, though we have a few options there with Williams, Oztumer and Aneke (if/when they're all fit).
He could go up front though that's the role Green's been signed for.1 -
Would everyone be happy with Harlee Dean? Seems to be getting a pasting from Birmingham fans0
-
Realistically none of those four will be in our starting eleven 12-18 months from now. Not unless we can work out a deal for Cullen, Pratley’s legs don’t give up on him and/or Williams works out how to not be crocked for half a season each year.ForeverAddickted said:

Maddison might not be an automatic starter day one with a fully fit squad but this is about squad building and getting someone in the door who is capable of playing a part in taking us up the table.
I have no doubt Maddison would be our no.11 next season because there’s no chance in hell we get Gallagher for a second season.7 -
Would be very happy if we were to sign him - Bit of a Michael Morrison type defender at this levelSamE7 said:Would everyone be happy with Harlee Dean? Seems to be getting a pasting from Birmingham fans1 -

Never even seen him play, but he is their captain and Birmingham have been very much based around their defense of late.

On current form would rather have Harley Quinn.2

If Maddison is to sign, he would allow us to play a number of different systems. He is also left footed and not afraid of having a go at goal. If he is to sign, as long as he works as hard as the other players, which would be demanded of him, he’d be a very good addition to the squad.
Maddison would allow us to play both him and Green wide, Taylor upfront with say Williams just behind, with those three rotating and causing problems. Give Gallagher and Pratley a rest every so often, and have Cullen and Field just behind them when they’re both fit, which won’t be too far now.
Though of course, this is all fantasy and playing tactics with players who aren’t fit yet or not even our players. But it’s good to have options within the squad, that’s the point and will benefit us.15 -
Not a great poster boy for the article Torres literally won everything with that transfer.RedRyan said:

Could not agree more, but would also add that we need to build a squad with serious depth. A squad that will also give us flexibility to change things when needed or other teams would struggle against.Sage said:If Maddison is to sign, he would allow us to play a number of different systems. Harlee Dean sent off today, Marcus Maddison came on as a sub, Alex Mowatt played for Barnsley. John Bostock not on the bench for Forest. Blackpool didn't play so Gnanduillet didn't feature.0 -
We could ask Thomas but he's not cheap!ForeverAddickted said:Sky Sports are saying that a number of Championship clubs are chasing Striker: Yohan Boli from STVV

Maddison was on the bench as he had a bug1

Wow, I noticed him and thought it was an over weight tannoy announced walking down the touch line until you posted that. The club doctor needs to have a chat with himricky_otto said:
