Just a note....watched Blackburn Wigan last night and both teams looked dreadful, particularly Blackburn though who have now lost Dack to what looks like a serious injury! At least we have a few good players to come back from injury....they look lost without him!
Williams done a grade one hamstring tear on Tuesday 10th, as far as I know. That’s two weeks plus the training. Hopefully back for the very beginning of new year.
A grade one is a strain isn't it? Minor inflammation but usually no specific point with pain along the length of the muscle.
A grade two is a more serious strain. Usually with inflammation and pain at a specific point.
A grade three being actual tearing to the muscle tissue.
No, not entirely.
Grade one strain can also have a minor tear, they usually do but it’s very small. To be clearer, I maybe should have said a grade one strain, you are right. But he will still have torn a small part of the muscle. Just like you do when you go to the gym, muscles tear and rebuild.
Grade two is a partial tear, whereas grade three is 90-100% complete rupture/tear.
Cheers for clarifying, I was going off the info given by my physio when I had a grade 2.
Just read on instagram that Kayal will be sent back to Brighton, not too fussed about that to be honest... He's done nothing since joining so cannot be missed.
Also rumours that Leko is being assessed and could potentially return to WBA as the injury was a bad one... really hope that isn't the case as I rate Leko a lot and feel like he offers us what no other player in our squad can.

Believe we won’t be seeing Kayal again, as per my post previously.
Even if Leko’s injury isn’t too serious, he will be getting his treatment back in West Brom. That’s part of both his and Field’s loan deals. Let’s hope it’s not too serious and we will see him again this season.

Depends how long he's out for. Don't mind Leko but if it's a couple of months there's no point keeping him here, we need bodies now.
Yeah he frustrated the life out of me at times but, one match aside, he put the effort in and gave us something different. Thought he was improving as well so it's a shame for both us and him really.
Dont know why people dont get this already when they bemoan the medical team or squad selections
Also explains the Bonne situation so his Agent can talk to him in the future about remaining on the pitch and risking his career rather than blaming Bowyer like nearly everyone else
Don't buy it from Bowyer. That was a bad mistake. Watching on TV you could tell it was his hammy and the 3 of us were all saying he has to come off. At the very least you get a trainer on there. Players who come from non league are often mentally tough and want to stay out and Bowyer needed to protect him better there. We will have lost him for longer due to how long he stayed on the pitch. It was madness.

Totally agree. A blind man could see what had happened.

I was there and it happened right in front of me.....sorry, but you are talking nonsense, he was asked repeatedly if he wanted to come off but he insisted it was not as bad as he first thought and chose to carry on and did so with little or no discomfort. Your assertion that we will have lost him for a longer period as a result is pure conjecture and merely an opinion you are making in order to support your unfounded opinion.
Anyone with any knowledge of hamstring injuries would know that's what had happened with Bonne. Fuck what the player thought..he might have never had one before. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Why not just at least check him out?
I wish I hadn't but i've had more hamstring tears than the whole Charlton squad put together. Been there, done that and got the scar tissue. They tend to go when fatigue has taken hold and sadly Bonne had reached his breaking point (no criticism of anyone there....he had to play). Good on him for playing on (I have done the same to my cost) but this was a case when he needed to be managed.

Continued with little or no discomfort? The next time he went to put a cross in he immediately pulled up.

Hear hear.
On one hand you have Bowyer saying that he can't play Taylor for 90 mins as the medical team have told him blah blah blah......then leave Bonne on without the medical team even checking him over. One rule for your "star" striker & another for the non-leaguer.
Referee wont allow the physio to come on to the pitch if there is nothing wrong though - Bonne didnt go down ergo there was fuck all that Bowyer and the Medical team could do
If its anyone's fault its Bonne's for not doing that

Or management for not insisting Bonne went down.
Can insist all they want, if the player dont think there is anything wrong they're not gonna go down - In which case any discipline towards Bonne for ignoring Management should be done quietly behind closed doors
End of the day Bonne has potentially hindered his own progression now - We need Strikers so if one comes in and scores regulary how do you justify putting Bonne back in the team? - that'll be a lesson enough for him to learn for the future

Absolute nonsense. Bowyer is the manager, if he tells a player he needs to see a trainer/physio the player will do that and that is what should have happened. The TV cameras spent a lot of close ups on Bonne saying to the bench he was ok whilst repeatedly holding his hamstring. If someone like me who has only played non league and never done his hamstring can spot it you would have expected someone on our bench to.
As for being out longer. You cannot run off a hamstring pull - it is not possible - the only thing continuing will do is aggravate it and he played on for what 20 more mins, pulling up more than once. Sure it is conjecture but a) I reckon I am right and b) this is a message board so almost everything written on it is conjecture

I understand the logic of your argument. I'm just a bit unwilling to believe that none of this occurred to Bow and his fellow professionals, most of whom will have had personal experience of hamstring injuries.

As you well know, any new striker will soon be injured - so Bonne will get his 1st team place back.

you can play on with a hamstring injury - i did and nursed one for 40 mins last game out but as soon as you have to stretch for a tackle or - as i think happened to bonne, extend it for a cross for instance, then it goes and you are in no doubt - sounds like bonne's tear is right down by his knee whereas most are up by your backside so a further confusion - albeit i agree that to everybody watching it was obviously a hamstring and he should have been told to go down and been assessed and then davidson or taylor brought on - both in my opinion.

Haven’t heard the details, but the scan was today and all I’ve heard is it’s not good.
That could well be the last we see of Leko. If it is, good luck to the lad and hope that maybe we can get him back in future.
