They were all in the same vicinity at the weekend, we were told they would talk, they did, it's now 5 nights since then and we are still 'very very close' surely it's a pressing matter and they should be getting to the bottom of it rather than letting the days go by. Each to their own but if I had just bought a football club and truly wanted the manager to stay, I would make time for him and not leave that room until we come to an agreement. I don't understand the hold up
LB - "£12k!"
MS - "£8k!"
LB - "£10K!"
MS - "DONE"
LB - "Right let's go do the pub......"
I said I was concerned anyway until that press conference where MS spoke of 5 years, if we get to this weekend and it's still not done I will find it really hard to understand why0 -
Bed wetters during games I don't like but adults asking pertinent questions on a Cafc forum about the directions of our club seems reasonable. Saying we will be relegated is very negative but not being aware that we might be if we don't have a good window ( players staying as much as who comes in) is CL folk having the biggest pair of rose coloured glasses since Elton John.4

Replying to andLB on new contract: “I’ve had some good, positive conversations yesterday and this morning, so we’re nearly there. Just one or two small adjustments and we’re there. It’s positive and I’m pleased with what I’m hearing.” #cafc10:22 AM · Jan 16, 2020·TweetDeckReplying to andLB: “The most important thing for me is to concentrate on the game, so that’s the priority over the next few days. Once the small things are sorted out, then we’ll get it sorted.” #cafc13

Then, I would have thought, you've got the same hold ups from ESI's perspective4 -
So from what Bowyer is saying it seems the vast majority of terms etc are fine and all agreed, but there are a few details still being worked on.
Why it's taken what seems a long time I do not know but I would presume that if it is indeed a five year contract it has to cover a lot of potential futures, and have terms and conditions that vary depending on which division we are in in each of those years - LB should get paid more as a Championship manager than a League One manager but that leads to complications I presume.1 -

Which was my point Brazilance - Ibborg has added all the solicitor speculation issues that none of us can know to justify disagreeing with my earlier post, but at least we can all agree, even if we believe it has taken too long, that Bowyer signing is a good thing. The side point to this is that the one thing Ibborg and I do agree on is that we dislike each other.2

Come off it. Anyway doesn't bother me but it would seem sensible to not comment on my posts all the time in a mildly negative way. I try to avoid doing so to you. When a pattern emerges it is time to stop.0

I don't want you to apologise. There have been a number of posts where in isolation it is just disagreeing but when put together it feels personal. We have had run ins in the past so I am saying I find it tiring. Now if it is just we disagree on virtually everything, fair enough, it probably illustrates what I am saying. I can certainly try to steer clear of you if you do so with me.0

Press conference summary:
Contract almost done, just a couple of changes and it's done.
On Maddison: Not fair to talk about him as he's not ours but he thinks he's a very good player.
Him and Gallen have a list of targets that they are working hard on. They know we need to strengthen.
January is hard though because people move the goalposts. Won't bring in anyone, has to be the right player.
Big blow to lose Conor but we move on.
WIlliams back in the fold as is Hemed and JFC. Oztumer has trained this week and Cullen is training for the first time with us today.
Aneke will be playing with the under 23s today. Fitness wise he's too far off it.
Bonne out for the next few weeks.
Taylor: It's all guesswork but in his (Bowyers) opinion he does not think he will go. (But he admits he didn't think Conor would go either)5 -

Not saying you are. We just rub each other up the wrong way. I know I do you too whether you admit it or not. We have our opinions and that is good for a forum, but when it feels personal it is better to steer clear. A few of your comments directed at my comments lately have made me feel that. Neither of us need it.0

Very good attitude, best to get how you feel out in the air without kicking off, now we can all move along so we can get back to worrying about Bow's contract.7

We're very close, just the salary, the term, severance package and compensation if I go elsewhere to sort out then it'll be done2
