  • Matt was so engrossed by the museum that he spent all evening there and forgot to go to the meeting
Yes, that random bloke in the photos hypnotised him but went wrong, and he’s now running around thinking he’s a chicken in the museum

Henry must have cracked open the bottle of single malt he got for Christmas.

    They're probably still there?

  • Topics covered look very comprehensive - hope the answers were positive

    An informative and encouraging meeting.

About 30 people present. Questions asked right round the table.

Nothing (in my opinion) particularly revelatory. Others might provide notes this evening but CAST will try to produce a detailed write-up tomorrow.

    Topics covered:

    • Training ground development
    • Lee Bowyer contract
    • Importance of CACT
    • Valley Express
    • Ownership of club / stadium / freehold / training ground etc
    • Former director's loans
    • How to make fan representation more diverse
    • Securing young players
    • How can fans help?
    • The need for ambition
    • Transfer window deals (MS: "I won't do a deal if its not right for the club. We'll sign players on my terms"). Player prices / wages dropping dramatically as the month goes on.
    • Plans to increase Valley capacity?  No
    • What does success look like for ESI ?
    • Lee Bowyer still aiming for the play-offs !
    • Sounds like Tahnoon Nimer will be at the Barnsley game

Probably some other stuff I missed but fuller write-up on CAST website tomorrow I hope.

Cheers for this @Pico Just wondering if you came away feeling positive from the evening?

Did Southall confirm we do not own The Valley?
  • who who else from the SMT was there?
  • I’ve just had a walk past and I’m not sure it’s gone the way that Southall would have liked.

Didn't recognise Henners without his cardi......
  • Thanks @Pico Appreciate you sharing all of that so soon after forum. Look forward to hearing the answers over the weekend behind some of these points.

When is burger boy back in his van ?
  • Who’s Paul McCarthy ?
  • Who’s Paul McCarthy ?
    Meeja consultant and ex journo.
  • Paul McCarthy is an ex journalist and now  PR consultant to the club. Has been v proactive in arranging fan engagement and probably the one writing the statements.

Lee Amis is a lifelong Charlton fan and erstwhile poster on here.

    Duchatelet still owns The Valley?

A shame the meeting had to finish at 8 due to another engagement that could not be postponed.
  • So I’m guessing that as soon as they purchase the car park then the pot holes will be filled in?
  • So they do own the stadium , boom
don’t ask the question again cos the answer may change
The way I understand it is that they own the leasehold of The Valley but NOT the freehold of SE7 8BL (yet)
    Anyone agree?
