Wimbledon signed a full back from Met in the summer....same sort of thing. They paid £10k to Met... and didn't have to. I'd like to think we'd do something similar and keep good relations with Met because they bring through some good youngsters that are rejected by league clubs.
You'd hope we'd have that relationship with all Non-League clubs, especially the likes of Enfield and Tooting & Mitcham of late who we've signed Davison / Odoh from
Regardless of what fans from big clubs think - The whole English Football System is what makes the game so bloody brilliant here in the country and Non-League teams deserve to be respected
I'm no expert but given the article names him as Lucas Ness and said they'd taken him on trial from Met Police, i'm going to stick my neck out and say yes it's probably the same guy...........

According to Lucas, the other Lucas is about 6’4”, and ‘so good he wasn’t allowed to play for the school’. I suspect that was because once he was signed by the Met Police he was contracted not to risk injury by playing for another side. He’s also a bright lad as the school is a selective grammar.

Rather than being taken as a joke all too often
Must be half decent if Leicester had him

Lucas Ness is at my son’s school, in the year above. My son is called Lucas too!

:-)
But will miss the FA Cup - Glad you've pointed that out, as I had included him in my Preview team for that game
