  • With the NHS in crisis it would appear they are letting them out before they're cured again.

Jams, I have a second cousin, actually a Charlton fan, who was born without legs due to the Thalidomide drug that was supposed to make it easier for women to have a more comfortable pregnancy. I am not condemning scientists out of hand - just saying stop treating them as if they are demi-gods. They make mistakes and are sometimes stupid. Like I wonder who it was who decided it would be a good idea to make an atomic bomb.
So you cherry pick which scientists you back up and agree with, depending on whether their science aligns with your political / general outlook on life?
Afternoon Gribbo. No, I don't cherry pick scientists, although there are loads who oppose the Covid vaccine but are not given space on main line media. I am anti vaccination full stop and so was my mother, so I have never been vaccinated in my life and nether has my daughter. We are all healthy and so far untouched by the Covid epidemic. If any of us gets struck down I'll be honest enough to report it on here. Meanwhile keep well.
Are you anti vaccination only or does it extend to other medication ?
Wife is a homeopath, acupuncturist etc so I go down that route if unwell, which is rare. Homeopathy works brilliantly for some people and not so well for others. I was stung by a bee in the summer. My hand quickly swelled up and I felt sick but after taking one tab of Apis mellifica I sat and watched as the swelling diminished and half an hour later I was back in the garden trimming the roses again. Remarkable really.
Homeopathy doesn't 'work' for anybody. It's demonstrably absolute, utter, complete and total bollocks. Acupuncture exactly the same - though the placebo effect (the feeling that having needles stuck into you is doing you some good) is slightly stronger there because it's a demonstrable effect - whereas drinking water requires a little more stretch of the imagination.

There's a reason that they don't call for a homeopath in ICUs...
Presumably @wolfboy would ask for a homeopath in ICU but then given how healthy him and his family he'd never end up in there.

  • Hope I ain't the only one who didn't understand the point that video was making?

You can get acupuncture on the NHS...... It is an excellent form of pain and stress management tool.
  • Presumably the precautions are not because he is simply unvaccinated, but because he lied on his visa application, which is taken pretty seriously by most countries.
I know but taking his phone away from him seems a bit much. He's the tennis world number 1, not al Qaeda. He's probably never even seen a visa application, he must have a PA who does that for him.
Bet he’s gutted he can’t get on Charlton life, now he’s had his mobile taken away.

  • Wonder if acupuncture was ever tested on animals
  • Christ, who left the door open at the bellend farm...?

@AFKABartram - got to do something about this swivel-headed loon, surely?
Hope that's a free range bellend farm

Someone who believes in pseudo-science saying "homeopathy works brilliantly for some people and not so well for others" is fucking hilarious. Also a bit tragic.
I guess in a way he's right. He just doesn't specify who it works for: the absolute charlatans who are milking the gullible with their lies and snake oil.
  • Or perhaps the ''swiss policy research'' study that shows covid has a 99.7% survival rate for the elderly, and that hospitalisations are in line with influenza figures.

Someone's already thoroughly debunked the first of your claims so I'll move onto the next one. Here's some actual data, from Johns Hopkins.

    https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality

I had a quick scroll down the table of mortality rates but I couldn't quite work out how you get to a 0.3% rate from the figures there. Can you enlighten me please?

Looks like it must have been from a rather remarkable study that only included Burundi, Bhutan, Iceland, Qatar, Maldives, Norway, UAE and Singapore ;)
  • Am I wrong in thinking that the only person who could be effected by Novak not having a jab is Novak himself?

But with visa applications, you have to 'sign' so the applicant is ultimately 100% responsible
  • Does ruin the legitimacy of a tournament when the best player isn’t competing in. Feel sorry for whoever wins the tournament as their success won’t be the biggest story of the tournament.

But he is not the top player who qualifies to play
  • Gutted Novak.
  • Can't imagine many of the other players are particularly upset.
