2-0 defeat I am afraid. I don't think we will win any of the remaining games.
That's what I love to see undying optimism.
What is there to be optimistic about?
There's not really any point in being miserable for the sake of it, is there?
It's like the start of a new season, players will be fresh and there is no current form book. As pointed out already, it's just the League table that remains the same.
We've lost Taylor in particular - but they also have renegade players refusing to play. Nobody can truly predict the result.
We've got to give ourselves a fighting chance. And I'm sure that Bows will have instilled this attitude into the squad. But there's everything to play for.
At 5 o'clock on Saturday, we'll know which way it's gone if the Post Match Comments thread is in meltdown.
Then it'll be the time of angst, weeping and gnashing of teeth. Meanwhile, in Bows we trust and ...... COYR!
Not optimistic at all, our squad is weak, especially when you think we have lost our 3 most infuential players from those first few games of the season (Leko, Gallagher and Taylor). I don't see where the goals will come from and the defence looks weak. Just hoping other clubs are struggling for motivation and fitness etc
We win and hold our own against QPR then a second spike happens and lock down begins again.. Season cancelled, ppg applies, were safe! You heard it hear first! It could happen which is why the boys have to throw the kitchen sink at Hull...no excuses and draws are no good.
Actually feel fairly positive about this . We won't score a lot goals without Taylor , but our midfield is quite strong . Hull have lost a few key players too , so 2-1 to the Reds .
I was going to put this in my first full match preview, however, having thought about it, on this thread would be much more appropriate now.
Even though we all don’t have the opportunity to actually be there supporting the team on Saturday, we do have the opportunity to watch and support them through Valley Pass. It’s important that we take a moment to remember that not every special Charlton supporter will get that opportunity ever again.
At the beginning of all of this, we lost Seb, and no matter what was going on, he would’ve been there had the game gone ahead. I’ll be taking a moment on Saturday before kick off thinking about Seb, and of course every Charlton supporter we have lost to this awful virus. It’s going to be strange for everyone, and emotional for many, but I have faith that they’ll be up there getting the boys across the line for the remaining 9 games of the season.
RIP Seb, and to every single Charlton supporter we have lost in the last 3 months.
The most important game of the run in IMO. If we beat them and go above them I think they'll stay there. Huge huge huge game. I have no idea how it'll go.
Very well said @Sage... Disappointed with myself for not thinking to mention Seb and any others in my Preview
Don’t be disappointed with yourself, it’s very easy to get swept up into writing the preview all about the game. I think that’s also how many would have wanted it to be too.
Bowyer said Aneke, Page and McGeady shone in training/practice matches. Would potentially be a game changer if these three lived up to their potential.
So hard to predict, but I’m fed up of doom and gloom, so I’m going for an unlikely 2-1 win.
I would go 4231, we have too many players who got into that 3 so I think it's the best way to get the most out of them.

Having said that, 2 games a week for 5 weeks is gonna need some serious rotation. It's important to get off to a good start but it wouldn't surprise me if Bow just held a little bit back so we have some key players fresh for midweek. Not sure why but I have a feeling Lapslie will start, and impress.
Important to get off to a good start again. No idea how the break will have affected the players. Form was poor before C19 so let's hope we can start again like we started the season. Like to see Field start and a throw of the dice with Aneke. A win would be such a boost but Hull can be good, inconsistent, but good. I am going for a 1-1.
I have a very good feeling about this game, LB will definitely have them fired up, and maybe, just maybe, the squad are going to prove they can do it, despite Lyle and co!! 2-1 addicks
I can't get away from the feeling of no Taylor no goals. A Bowyer side will always be competitive, but I fear we will labour to create chances and lack the ruthlessness to convert more than 1 in 3. Just hope we stay tight at the back and that one goal wins it for us.
We concede a lot of goals and don't score many, whether the goals are conceded due to a poor defence or a non functioning midfield is debatable, what isn't is that to win we have to concede far less and hope we can score a few. In true Charlton fashion I reckon on a draw which will be of title help.
great preview and as welcome as a glass of water for a man lost in the Sahara. We'll win this and go on to avoid relegation. I'd like to see McGeady and Hemed start, however the 5 subs rule gives all managers scope to mix and match more as the game pans out. Chatting to a Hull fan last week, his take is that the players are demoralised. City's situation, though not as precarious as ours is not good as the owner's family have cut investment and can't wait to sell up. Let's hope my contact is right on the money. (For anyone in the area who can't get TV coverage etc, the game will be broadcast on BBC Radio Humberside, though I am not sure that can be picked up on the internet)

I think if McGeady 'turns up', he can actually be a game changer.

Very strange advert on this page. Who calls their product 'ffs'?

Once again, I'm reminded of the words of former Notts County manager Jimmy Sirrel when asked a highly speculative question by a journalist.
"If I knew that laddie, I'd be an astronomer!"
Cannot wait.
