So sad, yet another of the Charlton family I spoke to on twitter who took comfort in reading about what I do. I’ll miss your little comments and waking up to your DMs.
RIP Jean x Watch over us from the Valley in the sky
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news but she is now at peace and no longer suffering. I didn't know her, but she was obviously a lovely lady. Rest in peace Jean.
Jean was a very special Addick... a "one off " so to speak.
Some years ago, we first encountered her alone in Bartrams , drinking a glass of her favourite Pinot , and asked if we might sit with her.
Co-incidentally, we had just met @GlassHalfFull via his latest project at the time - welcoming Jessie into the family with a parcel of Charlton goodies that we and others (inc AUN) helped to fund. So, Jeans table accommodated us all on that fateful Saturday.
And so it began....
Our group grew in a short space of time, as we progressed from the cramped conditions in Barts to the crowded conditions in Crossbars for our pre match get togethers.
Jean was a very determined lady so trying to persuade her to forego the West Stand seat she loved to enjoy matches with her friends was doomed from the start....but she did enjoy the camaraderie before battle commenced on the pitch.
Before too long, our group met for lunch, drinks and diverse discussions every few months, during both the close season and International breaks usually here in Wadhurst and although Jean was unable to eat very much due to her condition, she really loved our get togethers.
There is so much more I could add but tonight's sad news has rather taken the wind out of my sails.
Suffice to say, that Jean will be sadly missed by her Charlton friends .
Our famous football club and those she met during her 50 years of support including her favourite players, played a huge part in her life and gave her immense joy. Thank you to all concerned.
Never had the privilege of meeting Jean, but was always one of my favourite posters on CL. You could just tell she was a lovely person. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Met Jean many times over the last 50 years. Her cuddles always were lovely.
Rest now Jean.
God bless.
