I do feel sorry for Bonne . Yes he may have done financially well , he isn’t a bad egg but he probably needs to drop down to a level where he’ll get more playing time and won’t be so out of his depth , he may be doing that with QPR at the end of this season .4

He's better than Bogle but not as good as Washington. Aneke ahead by miles. Smyth isn't a striker so doesn't come into the equation.

Exactly . Never scores when he starts and can only play 60 minutes per week ... not that I think he’s a bad player, just as flakey as anything.Chunes said:By the way, he did score once last season; Bonne got 110 -
11 goals in the championship in 1 season; Bogle has that in about 5 seasons, mostly at a lower leveloohaahmortimer said:
He’s pony, he’s getting hooked when they’re losing and chasing games .wmcf123 said:

No way he’d have scored more than Aneke and he’s not better than Washington or Smyth ....Bogle and him would be the battle of the poniest
He had a good hot streak for us as well as missing some sitters but he’s a level or two above where he should be playing .
When he isn’t scoring he offers very little else .£2m or whatever they end up paying is a result for us2 -
Saying he is better than Bogle is setting the bar pretty low.
He's not as good as Aneke though2 -
I thought you were implying all of last season that he was rubbish, that's how I remember it. For me he had serious talent and Bonne is appaling footballer with a purple patch now showing that once again with an entirely fresh set of supporters.wmcf123 said:

Feels like people sometimes forget the difference in quality between the championship and league one. I think all our current strikers would struggle to hit 11 goals in the championship which was a good return from Bonne. If Aneke could start every game and last the majority of the 90 then he probably would, but I don't ever see that happening.3

Absolutely love to see it. I wonder if his head will be turned when Welling United come knocking for his next big move.1

i'd take bonne over 3 of our 4 strikers now (chucks ringfenced) although accept that long term, he ain't good enough2

All along I've thought this was a bad move for all parties other than our bank balance, he's now at a struggling side creating little, and with the pressure of the price tag. Lyndon Dykes looked a great buy at the start of the season, but his goals have dried up as well
Bonne was a perfectly decent player for us last season, how many Charlton players have scored 11 goals at Championship level? Igor got 11 in his first season, Makienok 5, Church 3, Sordell 7, Watt 5 in his best season, Luke Varney 8
Bonne would have scored goals for us this season.12 -
Feel a bit bad for the lad when reading those, and hope he stays off social media for his own sake.Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Aneke might be able to play more than 69 minutes, so might Williams, if only we tried it to see!0 -
Not the lads fault for QPR paying too much for him or that The Championship is probably a level too high for him. He works hard but that’s not enough. Hope he turns it around but I must admit I was never overly impressed apart from his willingness and effort. Can see him slipping back to league one at some point and finding it his level.4

Aneke has only recently done an interview where he's said that Charlton are finally understanding how to manage himTodds_right_hook said:

Have no sympathy for him at all. He thought he was billy big balls when he hadn't done his grounding with us yet. Could have had more grace to when he left.1

He was sucking up to his new club... Anyone who believes the generic crap that Footballers come out with in interviews these days is a mug!!Chippycafc said:Have no sympathy for him at all. Well if Footballer saying a load of crap works you up then you need to calm down a little bitChippycafc said:

Looks like I'm set to lose some moolah at the end of the season!oohaahmortimer said:He’s started 9 league games (3 of them for us)
come on as sub in 12
Played 953 mins (excluding injury time)and scored 2 league goals
according to transfer market
Am certain he'd have outscored Bogle for us.1 -
Wonder if his gobby bird and agent are piping up on twitter?Enjoy the splinters Macauley6

I reckon I would have outscored Bogle this season. And that's saying something!Dazzler21 said:

I think Bonne worded his interview at the time poorly. There are other ways to suck up to your new employer such as ‘glad to be signing for a well established champ club’ blah blah blah, rather than stating you had your head turned, which gives the impression you weren’t fully focused on the current job you’re being paid to do.Many of us did warn you QPR fans.9

If it hadn't been for the way he left, I'd take him back in a heart beat. He's exactly what we are missing at the moment8

I said that to my son yesterday whilst watching the game. At the time I wasn’t particularly bothered that he went. Obviously a massive improvement on Bogle, but he could conjure up a goal - admittedly he missed a lot of decent chances, but he was getting in the positions to miss and he would gamble - our current strikers do not do that. League 1 is certainly his level at the moment - can’t help thinking that he would have thrived on Maddison’s delivery.carly burn said:If it hadn't been for the way he left, I'd take him back in a heart beat.
