Great win! Not too sure why Williams not getting a game though. Surely when they go down to ten after two minutes that's the time to go for it. Clearly something wrong.

    NOT WANKERS!!!!
  • Only saw the last 20 or so minutes but we looked good for the win. Maatsen looks a real talent, Inniss is a monster and Aneke did really well for his goal. Happy with that.

Looking better with a game in hand.
  • And we won with more possession. Unbelievable Jeff.

My issue is that with Wigan + Blackpool those should be very easy wins and yet we're scraping past them.

Hopefully we just need time for our squad to gel but based on performances so far we're looking nowhere near promotion.

  • Definitely need to improve, hopefully will with Maddison & Gilbey due back. Need the midfield to be a bit more mobile!  Happy with the win!
  • It's very early doors in the re-structure of the team but you can see why they have brought in phyiscality (Innis, Aneke to name a couple), you're not having an easy time defending against Smyth & Aneke. Washington done a job also but we transformed when Maatsen came on, like having an extra man - he could be crucial in this league.

Still not overly convinced with the Watson & Pratley DCM-esque combo but if the clean sheets keep rolling...

3rd comment in already negativity abounds..... Bowyer has ALWAYS (apart from 18/19 right at the end of the season) been 1 goal winning margin kind of manager.  Our defense looks rock solid at the moment, Maastsen lookd quality.  Alfie great in 2nd half also.  Shinnie added some shine.... Aneke the man up front when he came on.  Bring on the 1-0 wins.....

We looked a much-improved side when we didn't have the 'crab' duo (as one poster put it) of Watson and Pratley. I hope LB learned something today. With those two on the pitch it so turgid.
Did still manage a few chances to score in the first half, Bogle should have had at least one.
Maatsen was a revelation on the left side. Kept CJ Hamilton quiet and offered so much going forward. Purrington has lost his place for the foreseeable.

Our central defence is absolutely outstanding. Inniss heads away everything (and everyone!) and Famewo is the complete package. It's good to know we can rely on them when we're not putting it together at the other end.
We did enough in the end and very happy with the three points but the general attacking play still needs a lot of improvement.

Two scrappy wins with a virtually new team. Neither were convincing.

Still, two clean sheets and the team can only improve as they start to gel.
I disagree. That was far more convincing than Saturday. Only one team was playing football tonight and it wasn't Blackpool.

Great win and (probably) deserved too. Inniss looks so solid and Maatsen is absolute class. Purrington and Pearce will find it difficult to get back into the side.

Was also impressed by Smyth in the short time he was on the pitch.
  • Can't complain at that.

Still a new side getting to know each other and they've kept 2 clean sheets. We'll definitely create more when Maddison returns. Maatsen looks impressive, i think that's Purrington done for quite a while then.

Edging our way up, now just 6 points off 2nd with a game in hand.

Damn it. We should have torn into them at 11 vs 10.

Deserved win. Whoever scores more deserves to win, technically we scored two to their nil

I'll take a 1-0 but we need to put chances to bed.

    Amos - Solid.

    Gunter - Solid
    Inniss - Solid
    Famewo - Solid
    Purrington - Liability

Watson - Better second half, stop getting booked though...
Pratley - Useful but not what was needed.
Doughty - Good game. Created lots of opportunities.
    Shinnie - Steady Eddie.

Bogle - Worked hard, should have scored. Bonne would get pelters for that performance.
Washington - First half anonymous, second half improved.

Maatsen - Unbelievable talent. Jay DaSilva on roids.
    Aneke - Beast mode engaged.
    Smyth - Worked hard.

  • Maatsen changed the game, so sharp, quality passing, had CJ in his pocket. Should have started.

    Chucks again was brilliant.
    Innis is an absolute monster.

Much better the last 30 mins.
  • We seem to be sorted at the back - three straight clean sheets. Always difficult to win at Blackpool.

Clean sheet. Two goals and look fluid going forward. Steady at the back. Lots of signs that we’re going to do well.

    Brilliant away result.

Third clean sheet in a row, and with Maatsen coming in with a superb display, I can see plenty more clean sheets.

Obviously shots on target is a concern, but if we move up the table with 1-0 wins, then I'll happily take that until the team properly gels together.
