Watching the goal video again, Chuks should be declared illegal on a football pitch.
The Pompey defender marking totally unable to compete.

Worth noting that 3 of our last 4 goals have been fast, precision passing goals that smacks of a Bowyer team at it's best... you can tell we're beginning to gel and will only get better. The next test will be when we actually concede a goal...10

Yeah, because it's when teams nick a goal and lead 1-0, that's when they retreat and park the bus.Jonniesta said:Worth noting that 3 of our last 4 goals have been fast, precision passing goals that smacks of a Bowyer team at it's best... you can tell we're beginning to gel and will only get better. We are pretty good on the turnover, counter attacking on the break.
But we do need to be able to open up packed defences.4 -
Chuks Bogle Inniss front 3. Bam8

The problem isn't that they won't give 110%, but rather that they might pick up injuries in the processblackpool72 said:Pick the strongest team available and ask for one more huge effort.
Then rest all those who need a rest for the two upcoming cup games.1 -
I've said it before I think but just imagine being a League One defender/keeper who sees Maddison standing over a wide free kick with Bogle/Aneke/Inniss steaming towards you. Pratley and Pearce are no slouches in that regard either come to think of it.Leuth said:
So many of our players feel like cheat codes. It's why there's such a feeling we'll finish top twoOggy Red said:Watching the goal video again, Chuks should be declared illegal on a football pitch.

It would be nice to be playing teams off the park in full on prime Barcelona mode but beating them into submission is equally valid.3 -

Shinnie is like one of those midfielders we always come up against and never play for us. Good on the ball, creative and reliable passer, can play his way out trouble, no obvious weakness like his fitness, work rate or defending.FishCostaFortune said:Early days still, and we are in a weaker league, but I honestly think Shinnie may be the best all round midfielder we've had in a long time.
He seems to have it all, and his calmness on the ball is a particular strength. Just seems to have more time than other players.
Be interesting to see if he can keep it up.
Different to Cullen but he’s going to be just as important in the midfield, with JFC or Gilbey taking up the Aribo/Gallagher role getting further forward and hopefully soon scoring goals.

Sometimes that’s where set pieces and penalties come into it, we got a lot of goals from both in 18/19.Oggy Red said:

Has Shinniesta been used yet as he reminds me of Andrés or even Xavi (Shinnivi!) excellent ball retention and always looking for a positive move. I knew he was good but have been really impressed so far.
He is out of contract at the end of the season so essentially he has been released but I think we have done some kind of deal whereas Luton pay him £x in return for a loan fee which enables us to stay within salary limits.0 -
Yeah Shinnie is a thinking man’s (or woman’s) footballer. He’s really added something that was missing from our midfield. Looks after the ball but uses it positively. Does his bit defensively. Maybe a bit of Claus Jensen about him.Cordoban Addick said:Has Shinniesta been used yet as he reminds me of Andrés or even Xavi (Shinnivi!) excellent ball retention and always looking for a positive move. You might want to consider a quick edit of that first nameExiled_Addick said:

Really canny movement too, getting behind the RCB and between him and the RB.Oggy Red said:Watching the goal video again, Chuks should be declared illegal on a football pitch.

Just seen the goals for the first time.
First thought... William's runs over to the touchline and does a knee slide...who is he doing that for 'Virtual fans' or just buzzing so much he wanted to knee slide like a kid at a wedding disco.
Second thought, perfect cross to Aneke who steams in.... absolutely flattens the defender in scoring the header.

Pretty sure Williams celebrates all his goals like that, based on the last 3 he's scored anywayThe Prince-e-Paul said:Just seen the goals for the first time.

I'm amazed that a) Jonny has his own goal celebration; and b) he can even remember what the bloody hell it was!MattF said:

The next time you watch us live hopefully we'll be in the Championship.Horsfield9 said:Great win , things coming together nicely , just wish we could be there to actually watch it all live , but for the greater good I guess. Roll on when all this shit is finally finished with.0 -
We played football, created chances, scored, defended well. Now let me look it up...... Yep ! Not bad0

Oh Chris Gunter, carly burn said:I knew Gunter would sail through at centre half. Watched him play there for Wales and he looked his usual non flustered self.
I reckon you could stick this fella up front and he would do a decent job!
He plays up front,
Oh Chris Gunter he plays up front,
He's got a name like a German,
Oh Chris Gunter he plays up front.
May still need a little bit of work.4 -
Won't the international break be a rest for him? He has been terrific so far this season.Leuth said:Pratley has not played the last couple of games like he's overdue a rest. I think he probably sees this as his last big season and is putting absolutely everything into it1 -
Based on his comments last year the last thing ever on Darren Pratley's mind is having a restMuttleyCAFC said:

Past history shows that our players usually pick up injuries just before the natural break in the season...MuttleyCAFC said:

It was especially bad timing for Inniss to get his 1 match ban as Famewo could have sat the game out as he already had a slight strain according to reports.
I felt there was never going to be an issue in League 1 playing both Gunter and Matthews.
Smoke and mirrors from Bowyer because Gunter didn't play in a 3 but having the option of wing backs with Matthews and Maatsen will help the attacking options.
Plan A, B or C, its just so good that we can play so many different ways and change it according to players available and the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition.
Knowing that Gunter is capable of playing in a 3 at the back or as a CB in a traditional 4 is yet another plus for the team.3
