Will people in tier 3 get priority for the same number of games as they prevented from attending?
With the Christmas relaxation of the rules I'd expect Boxing Day to be Tier 3 folks only. That would be fair, but if I were Charlton I'd insist on them all wearing full HazMat suits.
I emailed the club to say that for health reasons I wouldn't attend, and could they put any tickets allocated to me back into the draw so that someone who can go gets allocated instead? This is what's now happened; not required to produce any proof of ill-healt, just told that I'd need to let them know if at some future point I did want to be included in the draws.
I wish I could go, but it wouldn't be sensible: I want to be around to watch the matches next season.
It would be nice of course if they had 2000 ST holders who were neither in Tier 3 nor clinically vulnerable so those people could go and the rest of us just get refunds towards next season, which would be nice and easy for them to administrate. Hats off to them though for sorting this out very quickly.
Why are people trying to pick and choose their games. I get why Saturday's are more prefable to midweek but the season ticket is for all games, unless it is very much COVID specific why you cannot attend, if you can't go then that is the way it is in the same way it happens all the time under normal circumstances
If fans are being asked to arrive 90 minutes before kickoff, and then stay around after the game, it's a lot more convenient and pleasant to do that for a 3pm kickoff than an evening game, especially in winter, and far less disruptive for most people in terms of work etc
tickets sorted, does say arrive at 6pm !!!!. not sure I fancy sitting there for that long (nor that I can actually get there by then)
couple of questions: - presume everyone has to wear masks? (even kids??) - does everyone (including kids) need ID
Apparently there will be another email from the club with further instructions/information for succesful ticket holders, the original information was as follows
Guidelines for those attending
You will be required to bring photographic ID to the game.
Facemasks must be worn at all times. Supporters who have an exemption for wearing a facemask should get in touch with the club by emailing tickets@cafc.co.uk to get a facemask exemption lanyard for the game.
It is a bit weird that just this am I had my CAFC cash for December games given to me even though there is a further opporunity to go tomorrow's game later on today and what about the other home games this month?
Charlton fans attending Wednesday evening’s game against MK Dons will receive a warm welcome back to The Valley thanks to Andrews Heat for Hire with every supporter receiving a free hot chocolate on arrival.
No food or drink will be available to purchase from the ground due to COVID-19 protocols, but supporters will be able to retrieve a free hot chocolate once they are through the turnstiles to keep them warm on what is expected to be a cold evening under the lights in SE7. Alternatively, supporters can opt for a free bottle of water.
Ross Wood, Marketing at Andrews Heat for Hire said: “As long-term partners of the club, we are delighted to be involved by sponsoring the initiative of welcoming fans back to The Valley in the warmest way possible. Football without fans is not the same and we hope this is the first big step back to full stadiums soon.
“A free hot chocolate for each fan who is lucky enough to attend may only be a small gesture, but as a company that specialise in keeping people warm, we’re all too happy to support the idea.”
Andrews Heat for Hire are the UK’s largest specialist hire company, supplying long and short-term heating solutions across the country, 24/7, 365 days of the year. For more information visit andrews-sykes.com.

For the first time in my life I might take a flask! Not sure 4 hours standing in the cupboard end without access to any kind of drink (after the freebie) is going to be fun
Is there any on pitch entertainment to keep us occupied?

Probably the first person to get a face full of hot chocolate from a stray ball during warm ups
Haven't had an email saying either I have or I've not. And I'd prefer to be able to opt out - because I won't go for health reasons - and if the club knows this and were going to pick me, then I'd be blocking one of the 2000 tickets that could've gone to someone else who is able to attend.
Did say in the 'CAFC bubbles survey' thing that I am deemed clinically vulnerable so I would hope they've cross-referenced that?
(Apologies if this has been picked up in earlier posts - I jumped to the end of this thread...)
I don’t think they’ve looked at the surveys we filled in a few months ago for this match (so you could be selected if you live in a tier 2 area), but the message from the Trust suggests the club are meeting over efficiencies (including easier opt out options) for future matches.
I mentioned the "bubbles" on here the other day as I believed this information we provided would be crucial to the planning for this.
Surely this has to be included in future arrangements ?
With a capacity of only 2,000 it is probably impossible to seat people in adjacent seats/in bubbles without reducing the capacity even more.
Must be really difficult to manage the seating arrangements at West Ham.
This is NOT a criticism per se but most of the questions/complaints from Lifers today could have been foreseen & discussed over the period of time Bob Munro indicated since clubs were made aware of the upcoming situation.
We also knew that the DA postcodes would cause problems ( see BFG94's post above) but some stated this would be dealt with....How many other Kent residents will be offered tickets and decide not to query it ?
Then we hear that under 18s/younger children have been offered a ticket but NOT the adult in the same household.
My fear is that this is going to be a fiasco and may well have implications on the forthcoming matches which those of us missing out on Weds evening will suffer....
Well done to CAST for endeavouring to indicate the problematical areas of the issue but sadly, I think the horse had already bolted.
I queried my position very early on Fridsy. I got a reply on Saturday early saying I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter which I have never received. Many people who perhaps should have didn't. However I lodged a claim that even without underlying conditions 70 plus are more vulnerable to Covid .
I have not yet received a reply. I did phone the club to opt out in the end. Never the less no e-mail. I was shocked by the club's initial response as it flies in the face of all government advice at this time.
I’m very certain no one at the club told you that you “would have to go if chosen” - it’s a third division football match not bloody military conscription.
Well you are most certainly wrong. The e-mail I was sent said that I had to produce a letter of shielding to opt out . What is it with you that can't believe that. I have no reason to lie about that.
He was highlighting your assertion that you would have to go or produce a shielding letter. Therefore, as you can't get a shielding letter you are saying the club are saying you have to go to the match. You are suggesting the club are forcing you to attend by presumably forcibly removing you from your abode and taking you to The Valley.
Perhaps, it would be a good idea to check what you write before posting. Just a suggestion.
I had a choice.. go or not. If not I would lose my CAFC money and have to pay directly further £10 to stream the game. If I informed club non attendance they had the right to sell the ticket but not on my behalf. If I didn't bother to tell them I would be assumed to have printed it off.
I did check the e-mail again It told me to produce evidence to opt out which considering the circumstances we are in , is unfair.
I'm pleased you have now corrected yourself and have confirmed that the club did not tell you "that I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter".
Like I say I suggest you check what you have written before you post, as many of your posts are incorrect, don't make sense etc.
Just trying to be helpful, I'm not telling you what to do.
Interesting to see that being a Valley Gold member counts for nothing in terms of priority ticket access. I thought that priority access was recognised as a VG benefit. If that doesn’t apply in the current circumstances, I can’t see when else it would and why.
It might once they allow more fans in than the amount of sold season tickets sold then vg is probably next on the priority list

The fish and chippy in Charlton Church Lane is now a Morley's Chicken shop.

At the Doncaster game kids under 11 didn't need to wear a mask.
