Questions (which possibly no one here knows the answer to):
- Because I didn’t get drawn in either of the ballots am I still in the priority group for the Wimbledon match on the 12th or have I squandered that privilege?
- my ticket says 6:45 entry, if I don’t make it until 7pm will I be refused entry?
They won’t even check your arrival time; it’s more of a devise to stop everyone arriving at the last minute, creating long queues.
Did you attend the Doncaster trial match? The vast majority of people turned up at the designated time, people were checked & put into separate queues depending on there given arrival time, the process to get through the turnstiles was quite slow, with temperature checks etc Also people with bags were searched & print at home tickets are slower than cards to work on the turnstiles. My given time of arrival is 6pm tomorrow & i aim to be there at that time, it is important for fans & the club that tomorrows game goes as smoothly as possible, this will perhaps allow larger crowds to be allowed to attend in the near future.
are you sure the club holds the correct email address for you? do you receive all the usual comms, near enough daily? check your ticketing account details have the same/correct address
Mum thinking is either those who weren’t in the first ballot yesterday will get the first ballot priority for the next game, OR
given how many were left from the first ballot this time, they may tweak the process again
I'd like to think the former is the case although the next 2 home games fall on Sat 12th & Tues 15th December so the club may deal with allocation/ballot for both at the same time....
The club has said there will be a ballot in place and those that weren’t successful in the first ballot will get priority for the second one.
That there are tickets left is not the fault of those that were unsuccessful. Therefore they should get priority in the AFC ballot and if there is less than 2000 those that ‘won’ the MK Dons ballot can then go for what are left on a first come first served basis like the Ballot losers have had to this time.
It would not be fair to change the rules. If the club has had a 100% take up the ballot losers would have not had a look in.
It’s the luck of the draw if the first game had been a Saturday you may have gotten more people taking up their tickets.
Then if they decide they want to amend from a ballot to another scheme they can implement from Bristol Rovers game and use this to cover that and Plymouth. The tiers are being reviewed after Plymouth so tier 3 maybe able to attend then.
Whatever the club decides it won’t suit everyone but I feel they should honour their original commitment to the fans.
They said that, but the latest messaging seems to suggest something different will be in place for the Wimbledon game
They do, that is my point if all the people in the first ballot had taken up their tickets those that were not successful would not have gotten look in.
on that basis they should not change the process ahead the AFC game. As I have said in my post I would expect a Saturday game to have more takers the ballot was a draw those that didn’t get drawn out accepted they couldn’t go.
I don’t think the club should use one midweek game where fans had 3 days notice that they would be able to attend as the yardstick for all of the other games. Do the second ballot and if they want to change it do so from Bristol Rovers. A Saturday game will be totally different
I have seen the clubs request for input and I will be providing feedback. I think they have done a fantastic job in such a short space of time with limited staff, especially after all the uncertainty they have been through/
I now know what it's like to be a 3rd class citizen. It used to be that you were told you were elite by way of wealth or title, but now it seems just living in Kent means you are now not even able to go & watch a football match. I suppose I'll just have to be satisfied exchanging my ST for CAFC cash & "purchase" my streaming ticket that way. Never thought i'd be a lower class of citizen than those living in Bermondsey.
Ho hum.
how many years on this planet? only now realises his true stratum in life. 💡 apparently the trick to avoid a severe crick in the neck from looking up all the time is to stand further back - it eases the angle (geometry or smthn) - everybody's then happier with you for all sorts of reasons 🦨
Posted yesterday that I was successful in the ballot despite living in a tier 3 area. Not wanting to break the rules and being fair to everyone else, I got in touch with club and put the tickets back in pot despite really wanting to go. Received a really nice email from the ticket office. Wish all the knockers would remember the ticket office is doing their best in difficult circumstances. My turn will come.
Well said.
Reading some posts on here I thought the club were forcing people to attend against their will be it actually seems like they were well organised and responsive to enquiries.

That’s odd. Yes, I did attend the Doncaster match, joined a short queue, and wasn’t asked my arrival time at any stage, and nor were those around me. Perhaps that was because our arrival time was relatively late.
The temperature check was very quick, but the print at home ticket didn’t work at first, and I had to use a different turnstile (I think the turnstiles were used where I went in), which slowed things up a bit.
Just had a text saying I can go! Well happy about that. East Stand.
And have found a volunteer for the ITV filming on Twitter. He’s a world champ crossbow guy called Simon. So it’s been a productive twenty minutes. 👍
This is NOT a criticism per se but most of the questions/complaints from Lifers today could have been foreseen & discussed over the period of time Bob Munro indicated since clubs were made aware of the upcoming situation.
We also knew that the DA postcodes would cause problems ( see BFG94's post above) but some stated this would be dealt with....How many other Kent residents will be offered tickets and decide not to query it ?
Then we hear that under 18s/younger children have been offered a ticket but NOT the adult in the same household.
My fear is that this is going to be a fiasco and may well have implications on the forthcoming matches which those of us missing out on Weds evening will suffer....
Well done to CAST for endeavouring to indicate the problematical areas of the issue but sadly, I think the horse had already bolted.
I queried my position very early on Fridsy. I got a reply on Saturday early saying I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter which I have never received. Many people who perhaps should have didn't. However I lodged a claim that even without underlying conditions 70 plus are more vulnerable to Covid .
I have not yet received a reply. I did phone the club to opt out in the end. Never the less no e-mail. I was shocked by the club's initial response as it flies in the face of all government advice at this time.
I’m very certain no one at the club told you that you “would have to go if chosen” - it’s a third division football match not bloody military conscription.
Well you are most certainly wrong. The e-mail I was sent said that I had to produce a letter of shielding to opt out . What is it with you that can't believe that. I have no reason to lie about that.
He was highlighting your assertion that you would have to go or produce a shielding letter. Therefore, as you can't get a shielding letter you are saying the club are saying you have to go to the match. You are suggesting the club are forcing you to attend by presumably forcibly removing you from your abode and taking you to The Valley.
Perhaps, it would be a good idea to check what you write before posting. Just a suggestion.
I had a choice.. go or not. If not I would lose my CAFC money and have to pay directly further £10 to stream the game. If I informed club non attendance they had the right to sell the ticket but not on my behalf. If I didn't bother to tell them I would be assumed to have printed it off.
I did check the e-mail again It told me to produce evidence to opt out which considering the circumstances we are in , is unfair.
I'm pleased you have now corrected yourself and have confirmed that the club did not tell you "that I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter".
Like I say I suggest you check what you have written before you post, as many of your posts are incorrect, don't make sense etc.
Just trying to be helpful, I'm not telling you what to do.
Look, thatvwas always the case. I haven't corrected anything. The club told me to opt out I needed a doctor's letter. Not everyone liable to such a notification got one. I didn't but should have. Your failure to understand is not helpful. Please check back as I have said before, the e-mail asked for a sick note or be in the draw. That was not an option in the circumstances. The choice was it apparently go or lose out. That is not a choice in my circumstances. If you had that choice , would you take it given what Covid is capable of. And I really don't want to miss on seeing my grand children growing up because of a few football matches.
Would a letter telling people to isolate, not count as a sicknote?
Dear me...I was being slightly sarcastic.they are one and the same. I never got a letter in the first place. Aagghh. Not everyone who should have did. I didn't have enough time to get one from an over worked doctor. Being over 70 makes one automatically vulnerable. The club now accept this. Why the hell don't you instead of keep chipping away with annoying comments like one of Basil Fawlty's annoying friends .
Firstly, you wouldn't have got a Doctors/NHS letter for being over 70 as you are a medium risk and deemed clinically vulnerable.
Only those who are high risk (clinically extremely vulnerable) like me and others on this forum would have them - loads of them - letters, texts and emails.
Got my group of 3 tickets this afternoon - very happy to be going back, after going every week for 5o years I have missed the old place. Entry time 6.30pm for the record.
I have been working at The Emirates (Arsenal) all day today putting up/sticking down Covid signs so the punters know were to get in line at the kiosks for their game on Thursday night.
Season tickets are off sale. I want to get two as soon as possible.
New lockdown in jan, id imagine they are closed for sales for the season as the more they sell the more of a faff it is.. hope not though. Wouldnt mind a half ST myself.
Fans to return to football at EFL midweek games after coronavirus restrictions
Aside from a handful of pilot events in August and September, football grounds across the country have been empty since the professional game was suspended amid the coronavirus pandemic on 13 March.
On Wednesday, a total of around 10,000 fans will be allowed into six games in the English Football League (EFL).
League Two side Carlisle will be the first club to play with supporters in their stadium as their encounter with Salford City kicks off at 19:00 GMT. The remaining five fixtures - at Luton, Wycombe, Charlton, Shrewsbury and Cambridge - all start at 19:45 GMT.
Supporters will be allowed to sing in support of their team - but must remain socially distant.
However, there are some key differences to the matchday experience for those going to the ground. Fans will be told:
not to touch the ball if it comes near them;
not to approach players for autographs and selfies before or after games;
to wear face masks as they enter the stadium and go to their seats.
Clubs have all issued guidance to fans, although some of the the precise details - including whether face masks need to be worn by supporters when they are watching the game - depends on the individual clubs. In an exemption to present legislation, supporters do not need to buy a 'substantial meal' in order to drink alcohol in the concourses. In other changes to normal matches:Fans will be told to arrive at stadiums early.
Social distancing must be observed.
Fans will be advised against using toilet facilities 'at peak times' - at half-time and the end of the game.
Supporters are being asked to avoid 'unnecessary movement' and stay in their seats throughout the game 'if possible'.
Thy should also 'maintain safe distances' during goal celebrations.

Rather a Basil Fawlty than a Victor Meldrew. Can't wait until Thursday morning when you start posting about the next allocation.
Listen one last time....the government considers overv70 vulnerable. Hence in first wave of those to vaccinated. I also am diabetic and so clinically at high risk but dud not get a letter. Why I explain this to a person like you who either won't or can't understand I don't know. I have mentioned being before about being diabetic. Dear god wi you understand before one of us dies. If you had read others posts as vigorously as mine you would know by now the club has allowed all o er 70's to opt out until the next government change, upon which we get the option again. Be grateful. We opt out . You get to go. I am safe and you get a chance to get Covided. So we are both happy
Got an email this afternoon saying I could have a ticket but I'll have to pass on this occasion. I hope the ticket goes to a good home and hopefully there will be no un-used tickets.
