This is NOT a criticism per se but most of the questions/complaints from Lifers today could have been foreseen & discussed over the period of time Bob Munro indicated since clubs were made aware of the upcoming situation.
We also knew that the DA postcodes would cause problems ( see BFG94's post above) but some stated this would be dealt with....How many other Kent residents will be offered tickets and decide not to query it ?
Then we hear that under 18s/younger children have been offered a ticket but NOT the adult in the same household.
My fear is that this is going to be a fiasco and may well have implications on the forthcoming matches which those of us missing out on Weds evening will suffer....
Well done to CAST for endeavouring to indicate the problematical areas of the issue but sadly, I think the horse had already bolted.
I queried my position very early on Fridsy. I got a reply on Saturday early saying I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter which I have never received. Many people who perhaps should have didn't. However I lodged a claim that even without underlying conditions 70 plus are more vulnerable to Covid .
I have not yet received a reply. I did phone the club to opt out in the end. Never the less no e-mail. I was shocked by the club's initial response as it flies in the face of all government advice at this time.
I’m very certain no one at the club told you that you “would have to go if chosen” - it’s a third division football match not bloody military conscription.
Well you are most certainly wrong. The e-mail I was sent said that I had to produce a letter of shielding to opt out . What is it with you that can't believe that. I have no reason to lie about that.
He was highlighting your assertion that you would have to go or produce a shielding letter. Therefore, as you can't get a shielding letter you are saying the club are saying you have to go to the match. You are suggesting the club are forcing you to attend by presumably forcibly removing you from your abode and taking you to The Valley.
Perhaps, it would be a good idea to check what you write before posting. Just a suggestion.
I had a choice.. go or not. If not I would lose my CAFC money and have to pay directly further £10 to stream the game. If I informed club non attendance they had the right to sell the ticket but not on my behalf. If I didn't bother to tell them I would be assumed to have printed it off.
I did check the e-mail again It told me to produce evidence to opt out which considering the circumstances we are in , is unfair.
I'm pleased you have now corrected yourself and have confirmed that the club did not tell you "that I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter".
Like I say I suggest you check what you have written before you post, as many of your posts are incorrect, don't make sense etc.
Just trying to be helpful, I'm not telling you what to do.
Look, thatvwas always the case. I haven't corrected anything. The club told me to opt out I needed a doctor's letter. Not everyone liable to such a notification got one. I didn't but should have. Your failure to understand is not helpful. Please check back as I have said before, the e-mail asked for a sick note or be in the draw. That was not an option in the circumstances. The choice was it apparently go or lose out. That is not a choice in my circumstances. If you had that choice , would you take it given what Covid is capable of. And I really don't want to miss on seeing my grand children growing up because of a few football matches.
Would a letter telling people to isolate, not count as a sicknote?
Dear me...I was being slightly sarcastic.they are one and the same. I never got a letter in the first place. Aagghh. Not everyone who should have did. I didn't have enough time to get one from an over worked doctor. Being over 70 makes one automatically vulnerable. The club now accept this. Why the hell don't you instead of keep chipping away with annoying comments like one of Basil Fawlty's annoying friends .
Listen dickhead, I was trying to be helpful. Take that chip off your shoulder and wind your kneck in. If being over 70 makes you automatically vulnerable, just show them your passport and stop fkin moaning. This has been dragging on for days now, ring your doctor, get an email and stfu

Firstly, you wouldn't have got a Doctors/NHS letter for being over 70 as you are a medium risk and deemed clinically vulnerable.
Only those who are high risk (clinically extremely vulnerable) like me and others on this forum would have them - loads of them - letters, texts and emails.
Rather a Basil Fawlty than a Victor Meldrew. Can't wait until Thursday morning when you start posting about the next allocation.
Listen one last time....the government considers overv70 vulnerable. Hence in first wave of those to vaccinated. I also am diabetic and so clinically at high risk but dud not get a letter. Why I explain this to a person like you who either won't or can't understand I don't know. I have mentioned being before about being diabetic. Dear god wi you understand before one of us dies. If you had read others posts as vigorously as mine you would know by now the club has allowed all o er 70's to opt out until the next government change, upon which we get the option again. Be grateful. We opt out . You get to go. I am safe and you get a chance to get Covided. So we are both happy

I understand - you've said it at least thirty times on this thread.
However, read mine - I am clinically extremely vulnerable and won't be going even if I could. I live in a Tier 3 area.
Get the feeling from your posts that you'll never be happy again.
are you sure the club holds the correct email address for you? do you receive all the usual comms, near enough daily? check your ticketing account details have the same/correct address
I get regular emails from the club to two emails addresses, one of which is registered under my membership number ... They sent my ticket to a long forgotten old work address! Got to love em!
Apart from just the sheer relief and pleasure of getting out of the house, going over to SE7, getting to see the Valley again and under floodlights too, tomorrows match is hugely symbolic. It will be the first time in at least 8 years, probably more, that I have watched my team play without the backdrop of, at best, huge concern and dissatisfaction with the club's ownership and, at worst, being at war with them. Now I'm 100% behind the owner, 100% behind the manager AND 100% behind the team. So, I'll be on my own, maybe waving to a few scattered mates, no doubt freezing my nuts off, and not getting home to leafy Berkshire until around 12.30am - but it'll be magic. I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve!

It's time consuming having to correct your posts on so many things you get wrong/do not take the time to look up yourself. But as a CAFC supporter I like to help those that need it. Unfortunately, you will not be in the first wave of those to be vaccinated as you assert. You are in the 4th of 11 categories.
This interim ranking of priorities is a combination of clinical risk stratification and an age-based approach, which should optimise both targeting and deliverability. A provisional ranking of prioritisation for persons at-risk is set out below:
older adults’ resident in a care home and care home workers[footnote 1]
all those 80 years of age and over and health and social care workers[footnote 1]

I now know what it's like to be a 3rd class citizen. It used to be that you were told you were elite by way of wealth or title, but now it seems just living in Kent means you are now not even able to go & watch a football match. I suppose I'll just have to be satisfied exchanging my ST for CAFC cash & "purchase" my streaming ticket that way. Never thought i'd be a lower class of citizen than those living in Bermondsey.
Ho hum.
You're in tier 3 mate, that's not the club's decision. Grow up ffs
Sorry, I was trying to be funny/ironic about the situation. The fact the football is classed as the "working man's game" but the "working man" is barred from going because of where they live. As I said.....it is supposed to be ironic.
Perhaps some of you don't get my sense if humour or that I should start populating my posts with emojis...🤔🤭😛🙄
As it goes I've not received any emails either yesterday or today. I usually get 2 or 3 per week from the club regarding tickets/streaming etc so I'm assuming that as I'm in tier 3 I wasn't put in the ballot, although as a pp has said, that wasn't what was originally communicated.
But, and let me make this very clear in case I get shouted down, I'm not moaning. The club have had a really big task on their hands & have done their best. Hats off to them to have got 2000 people to attend tomorrow.
One thing though - which I mentioned previously - I think there are more people in tier 3 or have told the club they are shielding or not interested than people think & until Kent aligns with London (either both 2 or 3) then those going tomorrow will probably be in line for tickets over the next 2 or 3 home games.

let’s hope they meet in Tier 2 . If London goes to Tier 3 the valley is shut again .
