My cafc cash is doing weird and wonderful things today, previously had cash added for December games late November, today removed completely I guess awaiting outcome of second and subsequent ballots
Me too.
Also you couldn't use it to buy tomorrow's stream overnight.
Will people in tier 3 get priority for the same number of games as they prevented from attending?
With the Christmas relaxation of the rules I'd expect Boxing Day to be Tier 3 folks only. That would be fair, but if I were Charlton I'd insist on them all wearing full HazMat suits.
So nine spectators from 3 households getting Christmas lunch in the Keith Peacock suite.
My Charlton cash has been debited today - taking away £29 leaving me MINUS -£29 balance because I used it (plus the make-weight cash I had to add) to buy the December VP bundle. I haven't even got a bloody ticket for Wednesday either. What a mess!
First come, first served from 2.30pm for ST holders in Tier 2.
So does this mean that as I was unsuccessful in the first ballot I will have priority as outlined in the clubs initial statement for the next ballot even if I get a ticket.
I now know what it's like to be a 3rd class citizen. It used to be that you were told you were elite by way of wealth or title, but now it seems just living in Kent means you are now not even able to go & watch a football match. I suppose I'll just have to be satisfied exchanging my ST for CAFC cash & "purchase" my streaming ticket that way. Never thought i'd be a lower class of citizen than those living in Bermondsey.
This is NOT a criticism per se but most of the questions/complaints from Lifers today could have been foreseen & discussed over the period of time Bob Munro indicated since clubs were made aware of the upcoming situation.
We also knew that the DA postcodes would cause problems ( see BFG94's post above) but some stated this would be dealt with....How many other Kent residents will be offered tickets and decide not to query it ?
Then we hear that under 18s/younger children have been offered a ticket but NOT the adult in the same household.
My fear is that this is going to be a fiasco and may well have implications on the forthcoming matches which those of us missing out on Weds evening will suffer....
Well done to CAST for endeavouring to indicate the problematical areas of the issue but sadly, I think the horse had already bolted.
I queried my position very early on Fridsy. I got a reply on Saturday early saying I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter which I have never received. Many people who perhaps should have didn't. However I lodged a claim that even without underlying conditions 70 plus are more vulnerable to Covid .
I have not yet received a reply. I did phone the club to opt out in the end. Never the less no e-mail. I was shocked by the club's initial response as it flies in the face of all government advice at this time.
I’m very certain no one at the club told you that you “would have to go if chosen” - it’s a third division football match not bloody military conscription.
Well you are most certainly wrong. The e-mail I was sent said that I had to produce a letter of shielding to opt out . What is it with you that can't believe that. I have no reason to lie about that.
He was highlighting your assertion that you would have to go or produce a shielding letter. Therefore, as you can't get a shielding letter you are saying the club are saying you have to go to the match. You are suggesting the club are forcing you to attend by presumably forcibly removing you from your abode and taking you to The Valley.
Perhaps, it would be a good idea to check what you write before posting. Just a suggestion.
I had a choice.. go or not. If not I would lose my CAFC money and have to pay directly further £10 to stream the game. If I informed club non attendance they had the right to sell the ticket but not on my behalf. If I didn't bother to tell them I would be assumed to have printed it off.
I did check the e-mail again It told me to produce evidence to opt out which considering the circumstances we are in , is unfair.
I'm pleased you have now corrected yourself and have confirmed that the club did not tell you "that I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter".
Like I say I suggest you check what you have written before you post, as many of your posts are incorrect, don't make sense etc.
Just trying to be helpful, I'm not telling you what to do.
Look, thatvwas always the case. I haven't corrected anything. The club told me to opt out I needed a doctor's letter. Not everyone liable to such a notification got one. I didn't but should have. Your failure to understand is not helpful. Please check back as I have said before, the e-mail asked for a sick note or be in the draw. That was not an option in the circumstances. The choice was it apparently go or lose out. That is not a choice in my circumstances. If you had that choice , would you take it given what Covid is capable of. And I really don't want to miss on seeing my grand children growing up because of a few football matches.
Would a letter telling people to isolate, not count as a sicknote?

Ho hum.
You're in tier 3 mate, that's not the club's decision. Grow up ffs

Golfie, you're a miserable git whose glass is always half empty. You're always moaning or complaining and are never happy about anything.
I like this and think we'd get on really well! We should definitely hang out more!
Maybe down the line, supporters in the same bubble and who travel together could be accommodated and counted as one.
Do you think we can claim tickets for those linked to us on the club site? Just wondering if I can get my dad's at the same time I get mine, or if he'll need to log in separately.

I really don’t think Charlton are offering you a choice where one of the options includes not seeing your grandchildren growing up. That’s frankly an utterly ridiculous statement.

Yes mate what you are now saying is correct. I'll say this for the final time, please read what YOU said and I quote. "I got a reply on Saturday early saying I would have to go if chosen or produce a shielding letter."
You did not have to go, the club were not going to force you out of your house and frog march you to The Valley.
Maybe down the line, supporters in the same bubble and who travel together could be accommodated and counted as one.

I'd be surprised at the moment, but it could be a good way to get more in going forwards. Legislation permitting of course.
ITV News are covering the ‘fans return’ story tomorrow, and are looking for a couple of Charlton fans attending the match to interview before they leave home. The interview would only take five to ten minutes, max.
They’re ideally hoping for a family who live within walking distance of the Valley (but just one parent and child would do), who are real ‘home & away fans’ (their words). They’d film the interview first, then film you leaving your house. They might then get shots of you going into the ground.
If you fancy a shot at stardom, please send me a DM ;-) Cheers Jim
Questions (which possibly no one here knows the answer to):
- Because I didn’t get drawn in either of the ballots am I still in the priority group for the Wimbledon match on the 12th or have I squandered that privilege?
- my ticket says 6:45 entry, if I don’t make it until 7pm will I be refused entry?

I won't be able to get there until about 6.20 rather than 6 which is when it wants me to be there. I hope it's still okay
